Recently I have had the opportunity to play with this in great detail and thought it would be supportive to share.
As we live our lives we tend to allow most of it to be created from our headspace. Our thoughts are constantly running, playing back on what has occurred in the past and what may occur in the future as a result of our actions that we have not yet placed. When we are doing this, we are not paying attention to what is actually going on around us, we become oblivious to the moment.
What does it sound like when you lift your head off your pillow in the morning and slide your legs out of bed? How do your sheets feel against your legs? (I have a real soft fake fur blanket, feels unreal! Real soft.) How about when you put your feet down on the carpet or hardwood floor? Cold? Warm? What about the sounds around you when all of this is happening? Is there air coming through vents? Can you here a light humming of any fan or appliance you have around you? Is someone else downstairs making noise? Do you have a pet that is asking your attention or wanting food? (my cat always meows in the morning and I try and share the fur blanket with her thinking she’ll think its comfy but, her whole body is fur, what does she want more fur for?) What is your next move as you go about your day? Is it already determined? Or is it multiple possibilities?
The point I am trying to make here through observation of detail mixed with humor is; we don’t pay attention to detail when we live in headspace, and we miss out on all the humor that comes with these details. These little nuances that make the very moment you are in wonderfully perfect.
Instead, we find ourselves thinking about the future or the past. What happened the night before or day before, what may or may not happen on the drive to work or when we get to work. All things that are pulling us away from right now. Right now, where we can be totally at peace and happy, leaving every door open for infinite possibility as opposed to closing it off with thoughts of the future and past that limit what will happen RIGHT NOW.
Our awareness and heart guidance is ALWAYS there, it’s simply shut out and faint because of all the mind work and thoughts of past or future that are consuming our minds. “What if this happens?” “What will this person think?” “What if it’s not the BEST choice?” “I don’t know what will happen if I make this choice.” These are the thoughts pulling us away, making us unhappy and stuck. So long as these thoughts are running our experience, we will not hear or be in line with what our heart is trying to tell us. Quiet the mind, the answers are ALL there, they are simply being blocked out. In the moment, you can hear and feel exactly where you are meant to be.
One thing we must accept is that we are unable to control life. By that I simply mean, we cannot control what another person will think, what will happen if we take a risk, what will happen if we quit a job or meet another person, all we can control is whether we follow our heart and remain completely vulnerable to possibility. That is something we can never change, we can only be at peace with it, and have fun with it.
Life is a game of experiencing all there is on this planet, not just what’s in our linear scope. We remain so limited by our jobs, the friends we have, our family structures, our finance, our belief systems and what we think we can and can’t do. These are not concrete! They can change! Open your potential back up! Open the doors to possibility! Don’t think something is crazy or can’t be done because of a reason the mind has created. Go out and live life with infinite possibility and follow your heart. When we are at this point, we are aligned with your purpose.
Right here, Right Now, Loving
Joe

This felt really good to read.
Its amazing how often we have to be reminded to live in the moment. There is so much beauty in everything around us, but we forget to see it because we are living in our heads and paying attention to things that do not exist and most of the time do not even make us feel good. Sometimes we don’t realize the fun in something until we look back at it, we realize how good a time we had and see the beauty of it then…which in turn is distracting us from the NOW.
We might need to write “live in the now” on our hands until it comes more natural to us.lol
Just thought i’d share what I feel in this moment.
Peace and Love,
Amanda
Right on the button with this one… I can feel it in my heart… its very clear.
Just bringing myself to this moment brings me a smile.
I would suggest to everyone to watch “Peaceful Warrior” which will be the featured film in a few days.
Thanks for putting this piece together.
love Mikey
Wonderfully said Joe!! Right NOW!! What good does thinking about stuff do anyways? lol. Live in the moment, follow your heart <3
Peace and Love,

I can appreciate this! I started a new position today and I was thinking about whether or not this is for me and it took me into the possible futures for me all day today… i was not present. but now I am! I know my truth. I am the creator of my experience and I am staying in the moment… right now i am at least…and now…and now… and even now. Thanks Joe!
wow sounds like the book i’m working on.. we start in the world with not a hinderance in our mineds and as we flow along our path some times for this or that resin we decide to becom presured to do somthing we may not have done on our own. we begin the “heady space” or as i lovingly refer the ” cone of consentration” for well usualy monatery resins but, so many are presant day to day moment to moment. we become locked in and develop “gols” and “obsticals” and in this we close more dors than we open. to take in the moment is to be truly clear of thought .. for the majoraty a good sign of not being in the now is being bored, this is somthing i always notice. an other example is how uncontious we are in our waking life even as we think we are awair and awake. try this out! the next time you notice someone checking the time on there phone or wrist wait till the put it out of there sight then ask them what time it is. most have to check again! why? did they forget or was it uncontious? what just happened ?
You are so right, thanks to reminds us this important duty. For me it is so difficult to be present and when I am here and now I feel so good. But the rest of the time I am always in the past, I regret things I have done, I feel guilty, I ask myself constantly why? And I forget that what counts it is this present, here and now. And the most important, we are alive, thats a miracle.
Lydia
Thanks Joe
