5 Reasons Why We Are Getting Sicker & How To Reverse It

“By 2020, about 157 million Americans will be afflicted by chronic illnesses, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. That number is projected to increase by more than one percent per year by 2030, resulting in an estimated chronically ill population of 171 million.” – Chronic Care in America

In its natural state, the body is perfectly capable of maintaining itself. When healthy and unaltered by any detrimental chemicals, foreign hormones, heavy metals and poisons, our immune system is designed to provide us sufficient protection and healing power to prevent and overcome any diseases.

But how come are we getting sicker? Why do nearly half of Americans suffer from at least one chronic disease? Why are illnesess such as cancer, bone diseases, heart diseases, neurological damage, asthma and diabetes affecting us more than ever before? These are good questions! But an even better question will lead you to the simplest, most obvious answer: What are our bodies mostly exposed to in our everyday lives?

Bingo!

  1. Food
  2. Water/Liquids
  3. Air
  4. Personal care products
  5. Pharmaceutical drugs

It only makes sense that what we allow into our bodies will define whether or not it will operate at its peak capacity. So what is it about what we eat, drink, breathe, apply on our skin and take as medicine that has damaged our health?

The most commonly known forms of pollution are the air we breathe, water and soil pollution, all of which greatly affect human health and the eco-system. Pollution could be eliminated and the destruction of our planet could be reversed by committing to changing our ways and implementing free/clean energy technologies that are already available but have been suppressed for the threat they represent to the 200 trillion dollar oil industry.

Environmental pollution, however, is only a small part of the toxicity story. Did you know that harmful chemicals are deliberately added to water supplies, popular foods, personal care products, pharmaceutical drugs and even vaccines?

  • More than 77,000 chemicals are in active production in North America.
  • More than 3,000 chemicals are added to our food supply.
  • More than 10,000 chemicals in the form of solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives are used in food processing, packaging, wrapping, and storage.
  • 315 chemical contaminants were found in U.S. tap water.
  • One in eight of the 82,000 ingredients used in personal care products are industrial chemicals.
  • Neurotoxins and other chemicals are added to vaccines, and a german study shows that vaccinated children have at least 2 to 5 times more diseases and disorders than unvaccinated children.
  • More than 1000 new chemicals are developed each year.
  • Most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in the fat cells of our bodies.

And guess what: Studies show that everyday chemical exposure is among the leading causes of the rapidly increasing cases of chronic disease in America.

Many commonly used chemicals have been linked to cancer, gastrointestinal illnesses, neurological damage, heart diseases, hormonal imbalances, enzyme dysfunction, altered metabolism, reproductive impairment, diabetes, obesity, immune system deficiency, allergies/asthma, arthritis, endocrine disorders…

WHY IS IT THIS WAY?

Just as our society could readily implement clean energy technologies, many harmless ingredients could easily replace the most popular chemicals that are used today. But why do most companies keep using them?

Well… not only are some of these chemicals cheap enough maximizes profit, they are also very good friends to the health care system. But why would health damaging chemicals benefit the “Health Care” system? Here’s a hint: We judge our success in healthcare according to the number of diseased people we treat, not by how many people are healthy.

To put it simply, the health care industry would be better described as a sickness industry. It benefits from illness rather than health. After all, maintaining symptoms and diseases are what generates a steady cash flow. We are being sold on the belief that pharmaceutical drugs and surgery are the key solution to all of our health problems.

However, making conscious choices such as the ingredients we allow into our bodies are of no emphasis in health care. Not to mention that the chemical industry and certain government agencies have fought back, labeling activists and health organizations as “chemophobic alarmists”. But what about all the doctors and research scientists now expressing their concerns?

You can see it on TV; chemical-filled products and fast-foods are glamorized, and when it comes to health, all we hear about is which drug can fix one symptom—only to put us at risk of having 30 new symptoms (side-effects).

But instead of changing our toxic system and educating the masses about disease prevention, healthy nutrition and the toxicity of certain ingredients, authority has more interest in censoring truthful information, persecuting herb and natural supplement companies, and keeping us both unhealthy and unaware.

TO PUT IT SIMPLY: The people in charge of the system do not care about our Health because it thrives on the profit generated by illness. That is why it is of no concern to most companies and corporations to promote misleading information and add cheap and detrimental ingredients to everything we consume. To them, it is a 3 in 1 benefit: chemicals are inexpensive, keeping us unaware minimizes the chances of us seeing the bigger picture, and there is nothing more profitable to the pharmaceutical and health care system than those who are sick.

Good article, really makes you think that our progress over the last 100 years hasn’t really been progress at all in someways, and that we really need to question and change how our systems work, for the real good and health of the community.

My one questionable comment is the comparison of deaths between 1900 to 1997. We do live longer now, by about 25 years, (although i believe that curve is turning down again) so of course there are going to be more deaths related to diseases common in old age like cancer.

Dan, Cancer comes from the chemicals and junk we ingest. Sure some people live longer, but others die at early ages from cancer everyday. Big Pharma cannot survive without cancer, thats why Roswell will never find a ‘cure’. Aspertame, which is widely used in foods and drinks breaks down in to fromeldahyde which is a cancer causing agent. The FDA unregulated its use in 1997. So the Cancer numbers for sure are higher now… They know it kills you, they don’t give a rats ass though. There are many ways to treat cancer naturally but those ways are not patentable so they will never see the light of day when it comes to popular medical advice. Everyone is paid off, our entire country is a bureaucracy from the politicians to the doctors.

Building my own earthship Ben. My husband and I just came back from Costa Rica where we had hoped we woudl build a sustainable home and live off the land, so to speak. What we saw there shocked us. All this natural food growing and the people choose AMERICAN foods such as boxed cereals, pop, chips and sadly they eat enough in one meal to feed a small starving family for a week. Overweight and unhealthy with year round healthy fruitys and vegetables right out their front doors and teh stores are chalked full of americanized foods.. My husband and I shared every meal, A) too hot to eat so much and B) outrageous amount on one plate and not cheap either as one expects, prices in the stores and restaurants equal to that here in Canada – It is not as we had hoped and to find daily local markets was a bit of drive. This sick demeted system we have learned to trust has infiltrated everywhere. So we decided to just getting off grid at whatever cost and do it ourselves closer to home. No need to spend a crazy amount of money to live in a country that is the same as where we started in the first place. The movement to change, eat healthy and exercise is starting slowly but those countries that were already there once.. are now, sadly, lacking behind.

I enjoyed the article but how are we supposed to drink water? You’ve suggested NOT tap water, and not bottled water with added fluoride… but bottled water (without fluoride for example) is terrible for so many reasons, and the water filter you’ve suggested with a link costs $1,600!!
    More useful suggestions?

People are dying of things like heart disease more often because they AREN’T dying of treatable diseases earlier in life. Back in more “natural” times, average life expectancy was below 40 years, and it was more common for children to die before adulthood than to reach it. Why do you think tuberculosis disappeared from the chart? It’s because of advances in medicine! This cynicism about medical technology does a great disservice to humankind.

Life expectancey in the past was squewed because of the high death rate of children. If you survived into adulthood you could live a long healthy life into your 80′s or 90′s and a lot of the common diseases now were unheard of then especially heart disease, cancer, diabetes and many autoimune diseases like arthritus. Many of the diseases were iliminated not by vaccines but because of improved sanitation. In the past a doctor would treat several patients or more without even washing their hands. Many infectious diseases were spread this way.
One of the biggest reasons that we are getting sicker is because of the low fat propaganda being pushed on us by the FDA and the mainstream media/big pharma. Saturated fat/cholesterol are falsley blamed for heart disease and obesity. In fact they are quit essential for proper health.

I agree to some extent, we can’t turn our back on modern medicine, but we need to go forward in the right direction. If we fail to see the connection between health and simple things like food, more resources from the medical world will be focused on treating completely avoidable medical conditions. These “lifestyle diseases” are already the major health issues in the third world now.

  9. The 3rd cause of death after heart disease and cancer are the health care proffession! Latrogenic deaths from medical mistakes!

I think the reason the major causes of death in 1997, being heart disease, and cancer are mainly because of smoking. We all know that cigarettes are bad for you and the people around you. They constrict the blood vessels, irritate the lungs and throat, and of course contain many many carcinogens. This i believe, is the major cause of death now because since the early 1900′s, smoking became popular for men and women. In the early years, the dangers weren’t well known, and it was fashionable to smoke. So, all of that has caught up to us. I do believe that we can as individuals reverse these facts, but as a whole, i think it might never happen. I agree that mostly it comes down to the almighty dollar, and healthy people don’t make the pharma companies any money. I also believe that most people in health care truly want to make their patients well not sicker. I don’t think they purposely prescribe medication in the hopes that the person will get sicker. They prescribe to the best of their knowledge the drug that they think will make the patient feel better. Diseases such as tuberculosis have mostly been erradicated because of a drug. The medical industry is not perfect, not by a long shot,, but i am alive, i believe, because of the advances in medicine. I agree though that the best way to live a long healthy life, is to take care of yourself, eat as healthy as you can, be aware of what you put in and on your body, excercise, love and laugh as often as you can.

This chart seems to be a bit misleading. The data suggests that the number of Americans affected by chronic disease is rising at a little over 1% per year, but doesn’t mention or seem to take into account the the overall population is growing at almost 1% annually as well. Seems logical to me that as we have better treatments and cures for things like TB, and overall life expectancy is increasing, that what remains would be a slightly higher percentage of chronic diseases. There are some valid points in this article, but offering data in a non-objective manner like this seems to support a clear agenda (or commercial)

  12. Chris

i agree. I eat organic, and use natural shampoo and toothpaste. Sadly I cant find a natural deodorant that works for me; I used to use Herban Cowboy but that has Silver in it. I hear bad things about Silver..

  13. I must agree with Walt. The opening paragraph is a false premises and the remaining article is clearly a corporations are mean and evil rant. As human we have such a basic understanding how compound effect individual differently than others, yet many make sweeping assumptions based on a small data set. Are chemicals bad? Probably not a good idea, yet how “bad” are they in reality and how do they affect individuals not study groups? My classic example is that I know people who have smoked and have never gotten the classic smokers diseases and I know people who have never been near smoking and were afflicted by all the smokers diseases. There are variables that are not account for at this time with all diseases.

  14. One item left out of this discussion which is very important is the over-consumption of animal products. If you are familiar with the China Study and T. Colin Campbell’s research you would know that most forms of cancer disappear when people stop eating animal products. Yes, all of the processed food and chemicals are part of the formula for out modern health crisis, but our addiction to animal flesh is really what is killing us.

  15. Skip Taylor

Well if I may throw in my bit-bottom line is, longer average lifespans mean more chances to screw up. I`m not thrilled about being eaten alive by microbes or wild animals. There are things in the modern world that can help you but if you just pick up something and eat it-well 30,0000 years ago it may have been a poisonous plant. Now it may be a poisonous pastry. Get informed. If you like something, read all about it.

“Sirius” is a feature length documentary that follows Dr. Steven Greer – an Emergency Medicine doctor turned UFO/ New Energy researcher – as he struggles to disclose top secret information about classified energy & propulsion techniques. Along the way, Dr. Greer investigates new technology and sheds light on criminal suppression. He accumulates over 100 Government, Military, and Intelligence Community witnesses who testify on record about their first-hand experiences with UFOs and with the cover-up.

In the course of his research Dr. Greer is asked to look at an amazing find: a humanoid specimen, 6 inches long from the Atacama Desert. Not until 2012 was he given permission to take bone samples and DNA from the specimen. At that same time a pre-eminent geneticist, hearing of this find, offered to do DNA testing. He enlisted an MD from the same university,- world renowned for his work with skeletal anomalies, to view the x-rays and CT scans. Their expertise along with Dr. Greer’s expansive knowledge of the subject bring more questions than answers. Where did this “Atacama Humanoid” come from? Are there others like it? What does it say about the origin of the human species?

While on this odyssey, the audience gains a whole new perspective on technology, human evolution, and clandestine organizations who have manipulated and controlled the public for centuries.
