There is a very grave danger than an announced need for an increased need for security, will be seized upon by those anxious to expand it’s meaning to the very limits of censorship and concealment.     JFK was talking about the SOVIET UNION acting in secrecy, secret society.
    He was praising the USA as an Open Society, in contrast, while asking reporters to SELF-CENSOR on information that might be harmful to Govt.

    Sorry, that’s what it’s really about. JFK was a Cold War prick.

    There’s serious info that he DID CHANGE … shortly before he was assassinated. Fletcher Prouty and John Galbraith (via his son) and others have described clear memos on planned withdrawal from Vietnam, turning over ops to the S. Vietnam govt, to resolve on their own.

    I’m reading about Phoenix by Doug Valentine. One of the facts that was suppressed was that this “counter-insurgency” war was so difficult to fight — to separate the Viet Cong (S.Vietnamese revolutionaries somewhat aligned with the North) from innocent people — was because there was generally large and wide SUPPORT for this insurgency, and the S. Vietnam Govt was insanely corrupt, arresting people for ransom from families, arresting or killing rival non-communist political adversaries, and in other cases collaborating WITH the Viet Cong for profits.

    On Nov 22, CIA and elite military were conducting meetings in Vietnam in defiance of JFK’s plans. Immediately following Nov 23, like the next day, CIA embarked on OPLAN 34A (sic?) which was to take over more war operations, instead of less.

      I don’t think he was talking about the soviet union, maybe he was talking about the cold war being used as an excuse to ramp up ‘national security’ to justify the classification of information.

      I also heard he requested UFO files from the CIA shortly before his assassination, I don’t know if that’s true but I would not be surprised if that was the case.

      excuse me, Gary is it? JFK was in no circumstance addressing the Soviet Union in his speech. Maybe he made some points that indicated you to think that, yes; however, he deliberately said “we” more than a few times and demanded that “the population” as in “us” knew the truth. With that being said, thank you for the history lesson. Nonetheless, JFK was assented for a reason, and I HIGHLY doubt that reason was the Soviet’s grudge on Kennedy. Someone wanted to shut him up. He would not waste his time giving a ten minute speech on what the U.S population should know about the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union is not the one bombing its own people in order to claim “War on terror”. But that is another story.

    Bill Aal This speech was about the Soviet Union, it was also contra the CIA/ NSA and internal bureaucratic secret keepimg… Nothing to do with secret conspriracies…..
    It is also about supporting a free press that is independent and which has access to the government.
    Sometimes conspiracy theorists who are looking for “hidden truths” actually distort the truth.

    Wow again-he only was President for 2/3yrs I think before he was assassinated-Read ‘Dr Mary’s Monkey’ shows the corruption in government and drug companies and health service-a real eye opener and incorporates the death of JFK.
