What Are YOU Doing to Be The Change?

Be the Change you wish to see in the World.”

~Ghandi

url-7Ghandi’s powerful and straightforward quote etches a profound and deep imprint for the fate of humanity. For years, I, like many others complained and became frustrated by the daily events that have unfolded and continue to unfold on our planet. It is easy to fall into the trap of blaming and feeling powerless, thinking that we cannot make a difference in the world. The world you see, hear and read about in mainstream media is one of struggle, separation, violence and fear. How can we feel empowered as individuals when we are bombarded daily with images and stories of human beings suffering around the world and in our own backyards? It’s easy to feel hopeless and helpless when you have roles and responsibilities that consume most of your day and you can’t be, “out there,” making a difference and changing the system actively.

Majority of the population are not activists, or in an authoritative role as a well-known figure or philanthropist. Because of this, many believe that they can’t make a difference in the world for they simply don’t have the time, energy, means or support to do so. But this is all an illusion. This illusion has been created by those who have made the structures that are currently in place on this planet that are keeping us in a state of fear, suffering and of separation. It has been designed this way for those in power to stay in control and for us to view ourselves as beings that are subjected to what is taking place outside of us. We are conditioned from an early age to believe that in order to have a voice and to make a real difference in the world we have to become a success and play a certain role in society to be recognized and heard.

Many have this idea that the world will become a better place when certain institutions, governments, the economy etc. make changes. Human beings wait around for situations and people to change, believing that their lives will become more peaceful and enjoyable as a result. If we keep this belief in tact, we will be waiting around for centuries for this to be the case. Change first starts with YOU and only with you. What we think about and how we feel about our world and ourselves greatly impacts our physical reality. We are energetic beings in a constant motion of emitting and receiving energy. What we focus on and put out into the world then creates our reality. As energetic beings we are far more powerful than what we have been told and led to believe. When we fully step and stand in our power we assist the planet in a variety of ways.

It’s obvious that if we believe the information we are fed daily, we will consistently remain in the same state. As empowered individuals we have to make the personal choice to stop this cycle and do our inner work to see lasting change on Earth. If we want to achieve peace we must be peace. We must do the inner work to clear all that resides within us that isn’t of a peaceful nature. If we want to experience unconditional love, we must work on loving ourselves unconditionally and accepting all parts of our being. If we want to achieve oneness, we must clear all of the beliefs and ideas that we are separate from one another. If we want to live on a cleaner planet, we must make the necessary changes to be environmentally conscious. It takes concerted effort, dedication and consistent energy and focus on making this happen, but this is the only way we will really see true change occur.

We are going through a great change on this planet currently. For the first time in thousands of years the Consciousness of this planet is rising and the energy frequency is vibrating at a higher rate. All lower forms of energy and what we label as, “negative,” our limiting belief systems and fear based thought forms are now more easily able to dissolve and release. We are moving out of an energy and consciousness of fear and into one of love. We are moving from a state of separateness into that of oneness. We all have the ability to bring change to the planet in a more positive way. But we have to take the necessary action steps to create that, first as individuals and then as a whole. As we awaken and draw awareness to this knowledge, we become all that which we are meant to be. Stop complaining, stop the stories, stop the judgments, stop feeling hopeless and helpless and start BEING the change. Shine brightly and watch your inner and outer world transform as a result.

I really want to get out there and make a difference, except every time I think of doing something my anxiety kicks in because I am not that comfortable around people I don’t know. This has been a problem Ive had for a long time and I think its because of the amount of time I spent alone in the past few years playing too many video games. I quit videogames the start of 2013 and havnt played them in 2 months. But the problem is I have kind of transfered my need for constant stimuli from video games to researching topics about society. I also find it hard to eat right when my family buys so much junk food and when im feeling sad or just bored I eat. I just get really attached to things that dont involve people. I also just quit a bad job and have to find a new one and im a senior in highschool so there goes 80% of my time. I just feel so trapped and most of the advice on this website is amazing I just dont know how to change the habits of my everyday life

    • Drew, please feel free to email me and we can further chat about this. Thank you for your honesty and openness about your experiences. I would be happy to speak to you. My email is info@openheart-openmind.ca.

    • Hi Drew, I hear and understand your frustration – I at one time have felt that way. In regards to kicking bad habits, remember once you are aware of a habit it’s no longer a habit, it becomes a choice and you’ll be making the choice because of a belief you have. If you recongise that it’s a choice it’s much easier to change it. Also don’t worry about doing too much too soon, just do one thing today that you feel is positive in your life. And don’t worry about what anyone else is doing (family, friends etc.) because you can’t change them and it’s pointless trying because it’ll only frustrate you. Your the only one you can change and when you start to make better choices in your life it feels amazing to realise how incredible life really is and how wonderful this experience is we are having.

May I suggest a good resources for you:

Dear Drew,, I do sympathize with you so much and I feel that just by posting your comment you are indeed making a difference already even if it just feel like a little drop in the ocean.
Personally I am primarily concerned with animal rights as I feel that we are too concentrated on ourselves as humans and ignore all the aspects of consciousness that are mirrored back to us by the other creatures on this planet as well as the constant suffering we put them through with our actions and arrogance And yes I get angry and frustrated when I see the great majority who do nothing but put their heads in the sand while cruelty and vanity reign supreme. But the anger and frustration can be constructive and used as a springboard to take even little actions in the little time I have. Do not be afraid of disapproval, stick to your guns and do what you feel it is right because only by acting and manifesting your truth you can work towards achieving the inner peace that Vanessa .is describing so well in her article. And it may take time but you will see that other conscious individuals will enter your life sooner or later and above all Do keep on feeling weird It is wonderful!
      Lots Of Love

  2. Hi Vanessa, I really enjoyed your article.

I’ve been thinking the same thing – and although I know that changing the world is a work-in-progress, we can do what we can do in our lives, one step at a time. I figure that the more I do, the more I learn from others, the more I can share with the world :)

I’ve made a blog, which shows how I’m changing my own “world” :) If you’re interested it’s at http://adelaidetealady.wordpress.com/

    Keep up the good work,

  9. there’s a quiet revolution of social entrepreneurship taking place; of communities exercising power to enact local solutions to global problems. check out GIIP.org for a few examples of what Westerners can do to help bring about a paradigm shift with actions :)

Great article of which I am truly grateful. I feel as though it was written as a letter to me as it was exactly what I needed to hear. “It is easy to believe we are each waves and forget we are also the ocean.” Jon J. Muth

  17. Activist? that sounds more like be aggressive. Consciousness movement, based on a selfish practice as Yoga is not raising more voices than what you expect. They do change their lives yes, but generally with a small impact. That is their activism? I found more revolution in those who pray in front of abortion clinics defending LIFE than a person talking about energy and yada yada. But it must be hard to understand the power and abandonment that Christ inspires in those persons given the fact that most people is scared to surrender their life to an all mighty God and rather believe they can be perfect right here and now.

    • Hi Ce Gzz. I’m not an activist – I’m active in my own life, which may cause a ripple effect in others’ lives, once they see what is possible. We are not trees and we can change our environment (nothing against trees). If we don’t look after ourselves, how are we expected to look after others? I believe that God gives to me, so that I can give to others too :) And God is everywhere and in everyone and everything, including in our energy (everything starts as energy as well as light, look into physics). I believe that Christ lives in me, and I have conversations with him all the time, to find out what he would do in my situations. God gave me free will however, so what I choose is my choice. I try not to judge others and I expect others not to to judge me for my beliefs.

“Sirius” is a feature length documentary that follows Dr. Steven Greer – an Emergency Medicine doctor turned UFO/ New Energy researcher – as he struggles to disclose top secret information about classified energy & propulsion techniques. Along the way, Dr. Greer investigates new technology and sheds light on criminal suppression. He accumulates over 100 Government, Military, and Intelligence Community witnesses who testify on record about their first-hand experiences with UFOs and with the cover-up.

In the course of his research Dr. Greer is asked to look at an amazing find: a humanoid specimen, 6 inches long from the Atacama Desert. Not until 2012 was he given permission to take bone samples and DNA from the specimen. At that same time a pre-eminent geneticist, hearing of this find, offered to do DNA testing. He enlisted an MD from the same university,- world renowned for his work with skeletal anomalies, to view the x-rays and CT scans. Their expertise along with Dr. Greer’s expansive knowledge of the subject bring more questions than answers. Where did this “Atacama Humanoid” come from? Are there others like it? What does it say about the origin of the human species?

While on this odyssey, the audience gains a whole new perspective on technology, human evolution, and clandestine organizations who have manipulated and controlled the public for centuries.
