The term ‘bucket list’ is something that most of us primarily affiliate with the latter portion of our lives. By common definition it’s a list of things that an individual hopes to accomplish -either individually or collectively -before the end of their life. But what if you lived in a country where there was a 1 in 5 chance that you would not live beyond the age of 5? That is the case for Nkaitole, a 4-year-old Kenyan who has created his bucket list and with the help of Water Is Life has begun to accomplish some incredible things that we all deserve the right to experience.
No matter where you live, clean water is something that we all deserve to have access to -and is something that many of us in the western world are so accustomed to having that we often take it for granted. According to water.org over 345 million people in Africa alone lack access to clean and safe water, with approximately 3.4 million people dying annually from a water related disease.

The incredible story of Nkaitole is another reminder that now is the time to put an end to this. Thanks to the incredible invention of devices such as the LifeStraw, this is becoming an increasingly possible reality that we can all be a part of. To find out more about the LifeStraw you can check out an article that we previously wrote about it by clicking HERE, or you can support the movement by visiting their website HERE.
Even though Nkaitole was given the opportunity to experience a number of incredible things that most 4-year-olds could never even dream of, the need for him to accomplish them at such a young age to ensure their achievement is what hits you in the heart. This world is a beautiful place and the human experience is an incredible thing that we all deserve the right to experience to the fullest. Yes, life will always have its exceptions and unfortunate circumstances that take many of us at ages much younger than we would have hoped, but it’s time that we all did our part to prevent those that are unnecessary.
