Interest in Ayahuasca among the general public is increasing, and more people are becoming open to an experiences that can help them see beyond reality as we commonly perceive it.
There are a number of psychedelics people can get their hands on these days, anything from mushrooms to DMT or even Ayahuasca. Although sometimes taken lightly and irresponsibly, these are powerful substances that can create powerfully transformative experiences.
Below we’ll get to a video by Jonathon Twiz where he will discuss what you need to know before you drink Ayahuasca.
“Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.” ―Terence McKenna
Are They For You?
Like Terence McKenna alludes to, psychedelics can create some powerful results, but it’s important to realize that all of those things can be experienced without them as well. For some people, psychedelics can provide a turning point in their lives. They can transform them from one state to another in a positive way that other things could not do at the time. People have even been known to move beyond serious addictions to things like harsh drugs and alcohol by using substances like Ayahuasca.
Truth is, some people have had wonderfully transformative experiences while others have perceived their experience as very tough or traumatizing. In either case I firmly believe that the experiences unfolded in a manner in which the person required for their own journey and personal development. I feel sometimes people go into the experience with an intention and openness to process what comes up, while others may take them lightly and go into the experience not being sure what to expect. In turn they may have what some call “a bad trip.”
Was it the psychedelics fault? I don’t think so, I think it was the lack of knowing how to process what was unfolding. This is perhaps why using psychedelics like Ayahuasca, DMT, or mushrooms should not be taken lightly and used with a level of respect.
I always tell people who ask me if they should try them, to do what they are drawn to doing when it comes to using them. Some people are very drawn, while others have no draw whatsoever. This is very much like people who are absolutely drawn to one type of music while others are drawn to another. It’s a vibrational draw that your soul wishes to experience.
Are They Needed?
Like I mentioned above, it all depends on your journey. I think in any case anyone can move beyond or achieve anything with their own self, but sometimes that can be very challenging depending where you are and what you’re ready to tackle. Using psychedelics can almost kick-start or short cut that process to move you forward, but so can something like a car accident.
For example, how many times have you heard someone get into a serious accident or have a serious illness like cancer, only to suddenly wake up the next day ready to change everything in their life and follow their deepest desires? This will still lead a person to all of the challenges, lessons and aspects of their journey that need to unfold all because they had a “kick” to make the changes. Psychedelics are merely another avenue to achieve the same thing.
So if you’re wondering whether you need psychedelics, listen to your own guidance. Are you drawn to them? Have they been coming up in your awareness a lot? Are you curious about them? If so, this could be a sign that they are for you. It’s important to remember that they will not be the answer to all of your issues, or be a quick “fix” for any issues you are having in your life.
Even if your inner guidance tells you to go for it, know they still aren’t “needed.” They are simply a tool that can help move you forward if used correctly. Jonathon Twiz has all the info on that so I’m gonna let him do the job of taking this to the next level when it comes to Ayahuasca.
