When you think of the current state of our world you can see a number of issues we currently face. Whether it be our climate, warfare or the state of our infrastructure, we know we have a lot of work to do if we want to get to a point of harmony. There’s a new film out right now called Origins and to celebrate its release the filmmakers are having a 10 day free screening. This is a great documentary that you will really want to check out.
The film explores both the simplest and most profound explanation of why the current health crisis is happening and the answers are offered by some of the brightest minds in human and environmental health, for why we’re more fat, sick and tired than we should be – and how we can reclaim the health and vitality that once came to us naturally.
Personally the moment I changed my food habits my health began to transform in a big way. I was never really that sick or anything like that, but I didn’t always have a ton of energy and was prone to getting colds or little illnesses here and there. Eating clean food and cutting out processed foods etc made a huge difference in my health and energy levels and I don’t get sick. As a result I know first hand the importance of eating good food.
This movie is a vitally important reminder that we humans were once pretty bad-ass organisms, and still are, but over the last few generations we’ve really gone downhill health wise.
In our modern world, we don’t move enough, we don’t know how to take care of ourselves, and we’ve become disconnected from what makes us thrive on all cylinders as the super-animals we once were.
We’re getting sicker, weaker and more infertile. We’re spending billions on healthcare to stay healthy, and it’s not working.
Dr. Pedram Shojai, OMD, has recognized this trend and is seeing it reach epidemic proportions while running a large medical practice and treating the same ailments again and again. This is part of the reason why he made this film.
