The Ecocapsule is a completely off grid self-sustaining home that you can take with you practically anywhere you would like. On the company’s website, a short but sweet phrase is used to describe the pod: “Dwelling with the spirit of freedom.” It has a very compact egg shaped design, measuring just 4.5 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, and 2.5 meters in height. It weighs around 1500 kg and can be easily transported. The capsule includes a bed, toilet, and shower, along with a kitchenette that can be used to prepare hot meals.
Off The Grid
The most important aspect of the eco capsule is that it requires no external power source, relying solely on its built-in wind turbine and solar panels for all its energy needs. A high capacity battery ensures that you will have enough energy stored away for times of decreased sunlight and minimal wind activity. The capsule also collects and filters rainwater and dew that is later used for drinking and showering. This is what makes it “off-grid,” outside sources of water and electricity are not needed, so as mentioned before, this capsule can be taken to a wide variety of places. Imagine camping with this thing!
Even though the eco capsule is extremely small in size it can comfortably house two people and surprisingly, it even has plenty of storage space. This is the ultimate tiny home.
The Tiny Home Revolution
“Tiny Homes” have become increasingly popular over the last decade or so because people are realizing that they would rather not be tied down to a mortgage all for the sake of a big house. What is the point of having a big house you can’t even spend any time in because you are busy working so many hours to pay for it? The tiny home revolution has sparked the interest of many people worldwide. In fact, CE has numerous articles on the subject already. You can check those out here.
The ecocapsule stands apart from traditional tiny homes because it is pre-fabricated and all ready to be off the grid, making it a lot more convenient and accessible for people who lack construction skills. This evolution in the tiny home production model shows that there is a demand for this sort of product; it seems as though people are re-evaluating what is important to them. Even if this is something that you only imagine living in part-time, it would also be great for camping or other short retreats.
When Will It Be Available?

"If “Survivor” was actually real and had stakes worth caring about, it would be what happens here, and “The Sacred Science” hopefully is merely one in a long line of exciting endeavors from this group." - Billy Okeefe, McClatchy Tribune
