When we’re looking to manifest something in our lives, we’re essentially asking for change.
Change is a natural part of life and it happens every second of every day. When we resist a part of the process of change, we inevitably get stuck.
We feel stuck when we do one or both of these two things:
1. We want something in our lives, but we are not willing to invest the time, energy, and resources into making it happen.
2. We refuse to let something go in order for the change to be made manifest.
When we’re looking to create change we must be willing to redistribute our time, energy, and resources.
For example, if you are someone who gives away most of your time, energy, and resources to others, without keeping enough for yourself, your brain will not permit you to create a shift in your life because it sees these resources as “spent,” or in the process of being spent.
It’s like trying to add in a new car payment into a computer budgeting program. If you’ve already allotted all of your finances into your current activities or to over-giving to loved ones, the computer program will show you that there is an error. There aren’t enough funds to complete that task.
The solution then is to see where you can shift your spending habits.
For example, if the time in your day is maxed out from morning to night and you’re looking to add a new course in to the mix, you’re not going to be able to unless you budget or manage your time differently.
So ask yourself, where am I spending too much time, energy, and resources? Who am I giving it away to? How could I shift that?
This brings us to point number 2.
In order to create change, we need to let something go. This will to make room for the changes to appear.
You need to have extra “room” in your life in order to be able to include something new, hence the saying, “Out with the old, in with the new.” Change is a cycle, which means that we cannot just insert something into our lives without leaving something behind.
Sometimes what needs to go is a toxic relationship, a dead-end job, or poor eating habits. Whatever needs to be released will be different for everyone.
Commit to Change
The issue that many of us run into is that we often fear change. We fear change because a part of us wants to hang onto the same spending patterns for our time, energy, and resources, AND fit something new into our lives.
This will create conflict within you. It will feel like one side of you is rallying for change and the other side of you is digging your heels in the ground.
The difference between those that succeed in moving forward and those that do not, is that successful people know that they need to make room for the new in order for change to happen in their lives.
Think about the last time you created something amazing in your life. What was the last big change you made? What did you have to let go of in order for it to happen? How did you invest your time, finances, and energy differently? What was released from your life at the same time?
Get Comfortable with Letting Go
Your life cannot remain the same if you’re planning on achieving great things. Your relationships WILL change. Your bank account WILL change. Your lifestyle WILL change. Your belief systems and attitudes WILL change.
The more comfortable you are with that, the easier this process is going to be.
The less comfortable you are with this and the more you resist that process, the more YOU will create chaos and disharmony in your life.
The only thing that is constant in life is change. If you think that you can find some way to hold onto that which needs to pass, you’re only kidding yourself. It’s a way that you’ll fool yourself into thinking that you have control.
Change is inevitable. If you can allow the natural flow of life occur, the change you’re seeking will happen naturally.
So, if you’re stuck, ask yourself what you’re not quite willing to give up just yet. What are you holding on to that will inevitably change? You’ll likely already have an inclination as to what this is, but if not, try meditating on it, journaling, or talking to a friend to help you find clarity. Then work on releasing that issue to make room for bigger and better things to come into your life.
