Yes, I know, videos such as the one below are very, very difficult to watch. I think it’s safe to say that human beings, generally speaking, do not like to see animals being abused. Even if you are an avid meat eater, you may prefer to not see these videos at all, but they are important nonetheless. Many people are ignorant of what goes on behind factory farm doors, and like Paul McCartney once said, “If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian.” I couldn’t agree more; many people are simply unaware of what happens in order for that chicken, steak, or pork chop to reach your plate.
Longtime animal rights activist and award winning actor Alec Baldwin lends his voice to a video made by animal rights organization Mercy For Animals (MFA) to expose the animal cruelty that is taking place at Tyson Foods, which is one of the largest producers of chicken in the world. Tyson Foods is the supplier to huge companies including McDonald’s, KFC, Popeye’s, Burger King and Chick-fil-A. The video is comprised of clips from MFA’s three undercover investigations at Tyson Foods.
Not only is this completely inhumane and disgusting, it leaves one wondering about the quality of meat which results from such conditions. Is that really something that you want to nourish your body with? Those birds are living a life of torture, in complete darkness, and must endure a staggering amount of stress every single day of their lives. And people are consuming this meat regularly. In times like this, I wonder if you really are what you eat…
What Can We Do?
These videos are extremely difficult to watch, but they do serve a purpose. Please sign the petition here. And share this article or video with people who would otherwise be completely unaware of what is going on. Most importantly, if you do not want this to be happening DON’T SUPPORT IT. This is the best way we can end practices such as these; boycott Tyson Foods at all costs, and yes, this means abstaining from whatever fast food companies that they supply to as well. We do have the power to create the kind of world that we live in, and one of the best ways we can do this is by voting with our dollars. If you insist on eating chicken, do your research and support farms with more ethical practices. You can even try drastically cutting back on the amount of meat you are eating on a regular basis. We can make a difference, and it’s time we realized that.

"If “Survivor” was actually real and had stakes worth caring about, it would be what happens here, and “The Sacred Science” hopefully is merely one in a long line of exciting endeavors from this group." - Billy Okeefe, McClatchy Tribune
