I don’t know about you, but sometimes I think about the changes I have made in my life and how I would love it if my parents would do the same, but I feel like they are too stuck in their ways, and perhaps too old to make a change. This 96-year-old grandmother, however is completely changing my perspective and helping me realize that it’s never too late to make a change.
3 weeks before her 96th birthday, Anne Evers Fraser, the grandmother featured in the video below decided to go vegan after watching the Kip Anderson documentary, What The Health with her granddaughter. She told, NowThis, “It shows the cruelty to the animals, it’s really terrible the way we treat animals. And the only thing you can do in protest is not eat meat.”
Her sentiments are totally true, and really the only way to do anything about the cruel and inhumane treatment of billions of animals that is taking place every day on factory farms around the world is to simply, not eat meat or animal products. By boycotting these industries you are voting with your dollar and putting your money where your mouth is. You don’t want to see these atrocities taking place? Don’t support them, it really is that simple. If a 96 year old can do it, really, anyone can.
Anne’s story is truly inspirational, often times we may lose hope on ourselves or others, and think that it is too late to change or too late to make a difference. Or we don’t try because we fear that it is difficult, but really, nobody said it’s supposed to be easy. It is so important to challenge ourselves from time to time and do the things we never thought we could!
Other Reasons To Give Up Animal Products
If you truly don’t care about the mistreatment of animals on factory farms, then consider the environmental and health implications. By reducing your intake of meat and other animals products, you can have a significantly positive impact on your health and the environment. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing and we can all do our part and take responsibility for our lives and the impact we are having on the environment.
