Many of us don’t realize it but much of the popular music out there isn’t doing our consciousness much good. And it has been built that way for a reason. I’m passionate about this issue because my purpose is in waking up human beings so that we can thrive. This is a big part of it.
Picture yourself at a concert listening to a guitarist who has mastered his/her craft, bleeding their heart and soul into the rhythm, feel and vibe of the music they are playing. You connect with it, your heart begins to feel it.
Now imagine yourself at a pop music concert. The artist has a digital track or CD with their recording and beats playing off in the background and they are likely lip-syncing while they ‘sing’ to you. Everyone is watching in a hypnotized state of awe as they are star struck.
What’s the difference here? The 2nd scenario draws crowds in by the millions from city to city and yet very little musical talent or passion is displayed, while the other may or may not draw such crowds yet the experience is one of lasting fulfillment.
Why has much of pop music today stopped featuring human played instruments? Sure, samples or synth instruments make up the beats, but the soul from a human playing out a whole song is pretty well gone, isn’t it?
Sure this isn’t the case in all genres, but think about what’s primarily popular today, the mega stars such as the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Drake, Kanye, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber etc. It’s, what feel like, empty beats..
It’s not just instrumentals though, the lyrical content and overall passion of many artists seems to be replaced with watered down acts that ‘get it done’ but without a strive for quality that elicits genuine connection and emotion. Why?
Well, it’s simple. In many cases these once passionate individuals are made into products that push cultures, ego, and unconsciousness. And that’s the agenda.
And it’s done that way right from the engineering booth with subliminals.
The goal appears to be to push people into an egoic state and keep them there. To those pushing the agenda, the less we can remind ourselves how to live from the heart, the better. And that’s why much of the music goes in the direction it does today and why we’re left without feeling, and instead with catchy chimes stuck in our heads playing over and over.
My First Taste Of It
When I was about 14 years old I began to witness what was one of the most viral cultural takeovers, if not the most, of all time. I was in high school, and suddenly everyone began to listen to the same music, dress exactly the same, talk exactly the same, strive for exactly the same things and treat people in the same way. Baggy clothes became the style and weed became the past time, it still is one of the most evidential things I’ve ever seen.
When I first started hearing much of the music that was popular at that time hit the radio I felt something weird. I couldn’t quite explain it to people but I certainly didn’t hold back sharing my opinion. There was something… numbing about it and it was making people do things. Like I mentioned above, in a very, very short time frame when the rise of the popular rap and hip hop scene came into fruition (not to be confused with regular ol’ rap and hip hop and the underground stuff) everything started to change for multiple generations in a HUGE way. It was like a rabid virus struck into the minds of 12 – 30 year olds and took over everything about them.
I watched as my friends, and most people in my last year of elementary school and into high school, seemingly overnight became enthralled with the mass cultural take over of the rising poppy rap and hip hop industry. Language became vulgar and words took on all new meanings. No one respected authority or teachers. Everyone was trying to be the biggest badass possible. Guys wore 5-7 layers of t-shirts under baggy school dress shirts. Timberlands on everyone’s feet. People were popping gold plastic grills into their mouth. This wasn’t just taken up by one race or another, or one gender, it was everyone in a pretty wide age gap.
How did something like this happen so heavily, quickly and virally? And last for over a decade? There is quite a big agenda behind this and I’ve always wanted to prove it. For years I sought out people in the industry who could confirm my suspicions. That much of this music contained subliminals that would essentially brainwash people into doing things that would change our behaviour and lock us into egoic consciousness. Eventually I started to find those industry people who could confirm that, and it’s incredible the stories I’ve heard.

The Truth Became Clearer
Then I met Dulce Ruby. She is an international meditation guide and artist who was once a very successful model who innocently ended up in elite circles, around many of these huge pop stars and industry people. She has seen a lot and agreed to sit down and speak about it on the Collective Evolution podcast.
We spoke about the agenda the music industry is pushing forth, where it comes from and how it’s done. We talked about rituals and how they take place, as well as what it means to truly ‘sell your soul.’
