How To Confront Parts Of Yourself You Are Ready To Face

Published

on

What is the Shadow Self?

The shadow self refers to parts or aspects of ourselves we hide from because we deem them unacceptable, ugly, unwanted, bad, or undesirable.  These are usually natural and valid parts of ourselves that because of social conditioning and internalized beliefs about what is “acceptable” or how we should be, we try to hide, mask or bury them deep in the subconscious mind.  There, they are like our shadow:  vague, mysterious, present in the subtle background or periphery of our conscious experience. These shadow aspects want to be acknowledged, however, and knock from our unconscious at the door to the conscious mind through dreams, emotional reaction, choices and other behaviours.

These shadows of ourselves are often represented in mythologies, tarot, esoteric and spiritual teachings as the moon, since the moon rules during the night when things are hidden, mysterious and unclear.  Emergency rooms and policy stations are said to be busiest on a full moon, revealing the unconscious influence this planetary body may have on our shadowy aspects.

Nature of the Shadow Self

Since the unconscious mind controls about 95% of what we do, its safe to say our shadow selves come out, regardless of whether we acknowledge them or not.  It’s when we are not aware of our shadow we can feel powerless against emotional reactions, maladaptive behaviours and other automatic responses that impede relationships or prevent  growth and transformation.

Acknowledging our shadow is the key, for this permits us to know ourselves fully. By acknowledging these dark aspects with love, understanding and acceptance, we are able to become integrated once more, moving in alignment with our most authentic self.

Seeing our Shadow

Shadow aspects fragment our self concept, impeding an expression that is whole and authentic. Our authentic self is whole, meaning it acknowledges the “desirable” and “undesirable” aspects in the full spectrum of being. It’s important to know that our authentic self is always there, but shadow aspects may keep it from shining through.

Why is it important to see our shadow?  We can never hide from our shadow. In fact, this will create and attract people and situations  that mirror whatever it is we are hiding from.

We do such a good job of hiding what we dislike from ourselves that we often have little insight into our true nature. Indeed it is often easier to see the role of the shadow in those around us. For instance, how often can you recall someone saying to you, “I really dislike X about so and so” when clearly this is a prominent trait in the person complaining about it in someone else. The trick is to extend this insight into one’s own life.

Doing Shadow Work – Tending the Garden of the Mind

If you are serious about uncovering your shadow aspects, a simple way to start is begin to view all negativity that presents in your life as opportunities to uncover these shadows.

Often we make the mi62b2766a4ee2f461a432bc8c2367a6dastake that things happen to us. When you take the perspective that you invite experiences of all types to learn and grow, you can begin to uncover what’s in your subconscious that’s trying to get your attention.

So the next time someone makes you angry or frustrated, ask yourself, why am I having this reaction? You can also ask yourself, what am I  being challenged to learn here?

If you can, try to go beyond the surface and uncover the core issue. For instance, perhaps you react with anger towards “judgmental” people. You may see this anger as resulting from you being so non-judgmental and “judgmental” people anger you because they are so unlike you. Here it may help to consider the 5 sutras above, especially #1:

Remember the other person is you.

Everyone in your life is a mirror. With this perspective, delve deeper and you may find a part of yourself that is somewhat judgmental and harsh towards others. This is where the conflict lies threatening the self concept you prefer, that you are non-judgmental.

When you are doing this kind of deep and honest uncovering of self concepts, use the same kindness and understanding you would with a good friend who is confessing something distressing or embarrassing.  As you shine light on these darker aspects, accept them with love.  Don’t just love yourself  despite but because of all these parts that make up who you are.

Shadow work is much like a kind of gardening of the mind. These shadow aspects, like weeds left unattended, tend to run wild. Doing regular maintenance with shadow work helps us integrate, promoting unconditional love of ourselves.

Shadows in Society

tumblr_n8rg4o8FAy1sltkhoo1_500On a grander scale, we are grappling with shadows as a society in events on the planet today. It’s important to remember, we don’t get to pick and choose what is and isn’t one with us. Thus greed, wealth disparity, injustice and environmental degradation are not happening outside of us, they are a reflection of the conflict we hold within each one of us, and collectively as a society. We have to approach these issues in the same way, with compassion, love and understanding.

You don’t have to like something in order to love and accept it. It will go a long way for us to see everything happening in the world as a part of us.

All of it is us, the ‘good’ the ‘bad’ and the ugly. Now that we see it, let us transform it.

And we transform it with love.

The Five Sutra’s of the Aquarian Age

1) Recognize That The Other Person Is You.
2) There Is A Way Through Every Block.
3) When The Time Is On You, Start, And The Pressure Will Be Off.
4) Understand through Compassion Or You Will Misunderstand The Times.
5) Vibrate The Cosmos, The Cosmos Shall Clear The Path.

Full Moon In Taurus: Surprises, Changes & Breakthroughs

Published

on

We are having a Full Moon in Taurus on October 24th/25th depending on where you are located in the world. This marks the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on October 8th/9th with a New Moon in Libra. The energies of a Full Moon gradually build up earlier in the Moon cycle and become more noticeable on the day of and days surrounding it. It is also a part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies over the following 2 weeks.

At every Full Moon we feel a push-pull between the two opposite signs where the Sun and Moon are located, in this case being Taurus and Scorpio. However, with this specific Full Moon, Venus retrograde and Uranus are directly connected to the opposition which brings its own energy in a strong way which will get into in the next part of the article.

Scorpio season began the day before this Full Moon, yet we’ve already been getting a taste of it prior with other planets being located there. Scorpio is about power, transformation, intensity, sexuality, passion, regeneration, fears, and depth. It can be complex, mysterious, vengeful, manipulative, calculated, compulsive, and obsessive. As a water sign, it is emotional and intuitive.

This Full Moon in the opposite sign of Taurus brings its themes to the equation. This sign is practical and simplified. It is associated with physical things, beauty, and stimulating the senses. Taurus is about the natural world as well as food, money, values, worth, and resources. It can be slow, thorough, indulging, deliberate, reliable, cautious, yet lazy and procrastinating. As an Earth sign, Taurus is grounded and realistic.

Full Moon Conjunct Uranus Opposite Sun & Venus, Saturn In The Mix

Normally in the above paragraph, I would have mentioned how Taurus is stable and routine oriented. However, this Full Moon is aligned with Uranus which is the complete opposite of that. Uranus is a big factor of this Full Moon and it overrides some of the general Taurus themes. Uranus is unpredictable and can bring surprises, shakeups, breakthroughs, sudden happenings, separations, rebellion, and sometimes even accidents.  It can also be revolutionary, innovative, scientific, metaphysical,  non-conforming, awakening, insightful, exciting, and bring new experiences. Uranus is associated with originality, freedom, and change.

Venus is the ruler of Taurus and has been retrograde since October 5th/6th (until November 16th) in the opposite sign of Scorpio where the Sun is at this lunation. This retrograde period is a time of re-orientation of things connected to Venus which could include relationships, friendships, love, values, money, beauty, pleasures, fun, art, or creativity. You can read more about this Venus Retrograde here.

This Venus retrograde energy is strongly highlighted at this Full Moon because Venus rules Taurus and it will be joining the Sun exactly a few days following which is always a significant part of a retrograde as it is a ‘seeding’ period. Things that occur or thoughts that we have during the last 10 days of October (especially 25th – 27th) can somehow contribute to how things play out over the following 10 months when it comes to some Venus-ruled areas mentioned above.

This Full Moon and Venus retrograde are in harmonious aspects with Saturn. Although Uranus energy is kind of dominating this period, perhaps this can bring some sort of realistic or practical energy to the themes mentioned throughout this article and can also be tied into surprises and shakeups as mentioned above. Or alternatively, we may experience these energies manifest in separate ways.

Venus is also moving towards an opposition with Uranus which is activated at this Full Moon but could play out more strongly as we get closer to October 31st. The Uranus energies mentioned in the first paragraph of this section could affect Venus matters in either a challenging or exciting way. However, keep in mind that any new relationships or aesthetic undertakings maybe be short-lived, unstable, or be faced with surprises. These things can be sudden but not stable. We also need to be careful of being too impulsive with spending resources and there is also a higher risk of loss if we are not careful.

Full Moon Square The Lunar Nodes Which Are Changing Signs Soon

This Full Moon is in a tight square with Lunar Nodes which marks the halfway point between the last series of eclipses this past summer and the next series of eclipses in January. The Lunar Nodes are karmic points in astrology and considering that this lunation is aligned with Uranus with Taurus’ ruler Venus in retrograde motion, this Full Moon is very significant which could mark a turning point or significant changes for many people.

It is possible that the energies of the summers previous eclipses and retrogrades may be activated during this time as well which depends on how those eclipses interacted with your natal astrology chart.

The Lunar nodes will be changing signs on November 6th/7th just before the next New Moon. They have been in the Leo-Aquarius axis since May 2017 and will be going into the Cancer-Capricorn axis for the following 18 months. I will cover this more in my next article, however, this factor also signifies a shifting of energies along with Jupiter changing signs shortly after this, and Uranus also retrograding back into Aries soon.

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter In Scorpio, Both Trine Chiron

Jupiter is in a trine with Chiron which is exact on November 1st and still plays out in the week following. This can be a great energy for learning, healing, and acquiring some sort of holistic awareness. We can learn and understand our wounds, blockages, and fears better to help us overcome or transform them into something more positive.

Mercury is moving towards this configuration and will be aligned with Jupiter exactly on October 28th/29th. This can help us to be more broad-minded and see the big picture. Communications can be growth-oriented, educational, expansive, and fun. However, we can also be scattered minded and more easily overlook mundane details.

With this conjunction happening in Scorpio, it can also be deep, psychological, and connected to looking at things that are hidden or beneath the surface. In some cases, this can be a great energy for transactions and financial matters depending on how it is interacting with your chart. Short trips or travel plans may also play out at this time.

Things To Consider During This Period

What has been coming for you recently regarding your relationships or how you approach your relationships, either socially or romantically? Are you experiencing a shift in your values or a conflict between personal and shared values? Or perhaps this is connected resources, finances, and worth? Have you been having any breakthroughs, and if so, how should you proceed based on that? Do you feel like you need to liberate yourself from a restricting situation?

These are just some examples of themes that could come up during this period, however, there may be other variations of this energy playing out as well.  If you wish to do any sort of intentional release connected to what has come up at this Full Moon, it is best to do so anytime over the two weeks following, when it is waning. The exact moment of this Full Moon is on October 24th at 4:45pm Universal Time. You can click here to see what that is in your time zone.

The Incredible Story Of The “Black Jesus” From The 1960s

Published

on

In Brief

  • The Facts:

There is a highly classified story about a man in Africa in the 1960s with ascended powers just like Jesus, as described in David Wilcock's latest book.

  • Reflect On:

Are we still waiting for a savior or have we finally come to the realization in the awakening community that we are the ones we have been waiting for?

They say that truth is stranger than fiction. For many of us in search of the truth behind the controlled perception that the Cabal has very meticulously layered into our lives, we have found multitudinous bits and pieces of evidence that suggest that virtually nothing can be truly considered ‘impossible’ any more. Indeed, we have come to see that a lot of science fiction has actually been informed by truth, and movies and TV series often speak to historic events and technology that have already happened and been developed.

When Star Trek first came out, people were amazed that in this futuristic series people could step in front of a door and it would sense their presence and open automatically. In the actual filming of the original Star Trek series there was someone behind the panels opening and closing the doors on cue, but today we have the real thing and simply take this as normal and commonplace technology, which in fact was probably hidden from us since the days of Tesla until recently.

Using Discernment

Of course, if we feel that anything is possible then we run the risk of going along with disinformation and getting caught up in false leads that are not actually helping us get a better picture of the truth. It is more important than ever that we are vigilant, and our discernment powers continue to improve. For me, discerning truth is a matter of measuring any particular claim against the full body of knowledge I have accumulated, and see if there is a coherence with it. If it does not cohere with my belief system, that does not mean it is false, it just means I have something to measure it up against to evaluate if it makes sense. I can continue to hold beliefs that range from certain to doubtful, and as new information comes in, all my other beliefs are open to be challenged, as long as a more coherent ‘bigger picture’ comes into view as a result.

There is very little, then, that I hold as certain. Two of the fundamental anchors of my belief system is that we are all one, and that mind (the unmanifest) creates matter (the manifest), and this serves me well in having a foundation for a reality which is inevitably a fusion of the spiritual and the material.

The Story Of The “Black Jesus”

And so when I came across the story of the “Black Jesus” in David Wilcock’s latest book “The Ascension Mysteries: Revealing the Cosmic Battle Between Good and Evil,” my discernment filter was on high alert. The story sounded hard to believe based on my ordinary, everyday consciousness and personal experiences. However, having David Wilcock recount the story as coming straight from one of his trusted confidential sources adds a bit of credibility to it. That did not mean I truly believed it, or fully believe it to this day. But I continue to try to make sense of this story in terms of how it fits within my current paradigm of reality, and certainly in this regard it remains within the realm of possibility for me. Here is the story as recounted in the book:

advertisement - learn more

One of the most surprising stories Jacob ever told me concerned a man they called the “Black Jesus.” He said this was highly classified and he was definitely “talking out of school” to tell me about it at all. Apparently in the 1960s a man appeared in Africa who had full ascended abilities. He could read people’s minds, materialize objects out of thin air, communicate telepathically, levitate himself, and teleport his body from one location to another. He was a spiritual teacher who emphasized love, peace, service to others, and forgiveness as the common core that unified all the great religions. The Cabal does not want anyone to develop these abilities, and if they find out that someone has them, they will hunt those people down and terminate them with prejudice. The Cabal made several attempts to assassinate this man. He consistently regenerated his body after each attack, no matter how lethal it seemed to be.

Finally the man was told that they had given up. He was far too powerful. There was nothing they could do to stop him, and they were going to surrender. They invited him to a major world summit and told him they would reveal him to all of humanity so he could share his message. He was brought on board a military transport aircraft. Once airborne, he was shot repeatedly. His body was divided into many different sections, each of which was stored in a super-high-tech energy-shielded container. Jet aircraft rushed up to the plane in sequence and scrambled the containers all over the Earth, as far apart as possible. The contents were then thoroughly and completely destroyed. It was hoped that this would prevent him from being able to regenerate himself.

After this was done, the man materialized directly into the offices of the people who had ordered his murder. There were no visible signs of damage to his body. He said, “Your desire to prevent me from living on Earth is so strong that I am forced to honor it, for now. I will be leaving you shortly. However, in the future many more people will develop abilities just like me. Once that happens, you will no longer be able to stop us from making this world a peaceful place for everyone.”

How This Story Fits For Me

I found it fascinating that a being of such power would have to concede that the Cabal’s “desire” was so strong that he was forced to honor it. But this may be a clue for us about how things play out in our density of existence based on ‘free will,’ and beings of great power cannot simply come onto our planet and exert their own will over that of the inhabitants. True, most people on Earth might ultimately want what the “Black Jesus” was offering, but it would be necessary for more people to rise to a higher level of awareness for humanity to be able to say that it was “at choice” in this savior’s role on the planet.

I believe in the 1960s humanity was not ready for such a figure, in the sense that he would become an idol and people would not heed his message deeply and apply it to themselves, thus stunting their evolution. This is what happened with the original Jesus, whose message to humanity, “Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I am doing; He will do even greater things than these…” mostly fell upon deaf ears.

With his clairvoyant abilities he sees a future in which many more people will develop his abilities, and perhaps that is exactly what is coming to humanity in the coming years, where we ourselves have people rising from among us, and developing these powers.

The Takeaway

An ongoing theme in our awakening and evolution is that we have to get off our knees, that we have to stop waiting for a savior, and realize the WE are the ones we have been waiting for. The evolution of consciousness is a collective effort, but one in which we each have a unique, individual, personal stake. Moving forward, it is incumbent upon all of us to further our inner evolution towards an internal peace and harmony, whereby we create the fertile conditions within Collective Consciousness for many of us to develop abilities like the “Black Jesus” mentioned, that will ensure that this world becomes “a peaceful place for everyone.”

Is Marijuana Unhealthy? An In-Depth Look at the Research

Published

on

In Brief

  • The Facts:

There are large bodies of research that show the ups and downs of cannabis. Yes, much of it contradicts itself in many ways, but science is never all that cut and dry. Simply, cannabis does have negative side effects, but do they outweigh the pros?

  • Reflect On:

Do you have an extreme pro or anti stance on cannabis? If so, why? Are we able to recognize the pros and the cons of cannabis and truly be open to them without getting triggered? Are we open to exploring spirituality without substances?

Here in Canada, Cannabis was recently legalized, essentially making it so that getting your hands on Cannabis and recreationally using it is now much easier and accepted. Let me be the first to say I feel this is a good thing, as I do not think the plant should have ever been illegal to begin with.

However, I do feel that this is quite a bit of a bait and switch by the government. We could go on for days about how this is simply a huge government control/profit tactic, huge tax opportunity and ultimately they will control the medical side even more etc. But we’ll leave this for another discussion. In fact, in just a few weeks I’m interviewing an incredibly knowledgeable figure in this space on the subject and much more on The Collective Evolution Podcast. So stay tuned.

Today, I simply want to explore some of the health effects of cannabis as I have found that anytime you have such extreme polarity around something, you get extreme beliefs, misinformation and falsehoods on either side. For example, someone reached out to us via email the other day simply because in one of our articles we stated that it was a good idea to not simply medicate ourselves with cannabis all the time when you are feeling down, but instead to also seek other forms of help. The person emailing was quite angry as they felt we were saying cannabis was bad. Meanwhile, all we were saying was, ‘medicine’ isn’t supposed to be taken every day.

The point is, some will have you think it’s the devil, while others think there is not a single negative side effect. Both are false. As the video below will summarize, “it’s totally wrong to say there are no negative health effects.” But are these health effects as bad as other common substances? No. So let’s ground this conversation and look at both sides objectively as that’s important.

One Quick Note On The Spiritual Aspects of Cannabis

Before we get into the health effects a bit more in the video below, I want to mention two quick things that come up a lot.

Often times people will assume my spiritual knowledge, calm way of being or state of consciousness must have come from either smoking weed or doing some other psychedelics. This is fair, as this is the CULTURE being aggressively pushed. Insight comes from psychedelics. If that were the case on a large scale, we’d see a massively spiritual world, but we don’t because it’s not that simple. This is, unfortunately, a ‘cure all’ culture that has gotten a bit out of control and makes it so that those new to the use of psychedelics can get lost or confused about them. If we remain grounded, in ANY subject, we can help many more people.

advertisement - learn more

For my journey, I did not grow up trying cannabis or using psychedelics. Cannabis experimentation came a bit later. All of what I currently know, in a spiritual sense, came from simply reflecting and practicing meditation and inner work. I have achieved ‘highs’ from meditation that you learn to bring into daily life in an incredible way. It’s not complicated, it just takes some practice.

Often times people claim that smoking cannabis connects them to god or their higherself. This is a fair thing to feel as I do know, from experience, that cannabis can help quiet the mind to some extent. If you are someone with a very active mind, smoking cannabis can show you what it’s like to have a less active mind. This can certainly be a good thing, but there’s more to this picture.

For me, I’ve experimented on multiple occasions with different strains, and have also ventured into edibles (which I knew wasn’t going to produce that result lol) and all I can say is, for me, this is not connecting to self or higherself. Nor was this the same type of ‘quiet mind’ that comes from meditation. Again, does it quiet your mind in a way? Yes. But something.. is missing.. so to speak, when we’re talking about truly connecting. It was not the same connection as in my normal waking state or my meditation states.

This led me to want to explore more about why people felt this way. Sure, in my direct experience, and I’m truly not meaning to offend here or anything as I feel this is an important conversation to have, but most of the people that were claiming they felt this ‘deep connection’ were not meditators nor practiced things of that nature. Intuitively I felt it was simply coming from the lack of knowledge and experience of what connecting to your true self or higherself actually is. Again, what I feel, and know from experience, is that what we feel when smoking cannabis is a quieter mind. To note, I can’t say that no one can connect to self on cannabis, as I imagine some may.

But I’ve been around people when they smoked, and their overall energy was not resonating in a place that was all that ‘high’, but more so sedated and relaxed. This did not remind me of the energy of being around a group of meditators for example. And this is what I mean by ‘something is missing.’ The energy, the state of being, is simply not the same.

So why do I say this? Why bring this up? Simply because I want to encourage those who are looking to go deeper, and find true inner peace in their waking life, to develop the necessary practices that will truly help them get there.

It feels as though, now, in this moment, and moving into 2019, the ‘trend,’ if you will, is going to evolve towards inner work. Less will we be pacifying and medicating (with things like food, sex, cannabis, alcohol etc.) in a sense, and more will we be truly looking to solve our challenges and turmoil from within. The substances we use may still be consumed for periods as we continue to explore this inner work, it’s not about having anything against them, for some of us, this helps us get through more difficult experience at the moment, but we also must look to do the true inner work that helps us evolve past these challenges, or else we will be pacifying our entire lives.

What can help us explore ourselves? I truly recommend committing to a 10-day meditation practice of just 10 minutes a day can provide enough insight into what this can look like that it can fuel a greater practice and understanding of what it is. For those wanting a bit more food for thought, check this out.

OK, enough about that, let’s jump into the research side of things.

Is Cannabis Healthy?

All of the research Mic refers to and links to support his work are in the video description on YouTube.

The Takeaway

As you probably noted in the video. Yes cannabis smoke, like other smoke, is harmful. It appears cannabis is mildly addictive or that people can make it habitually addictive, but it’s significantly less addictive than other substances like smoking or alcohol. Is it a gateway drug? Maybe slightly, but why do we ignoring alcohol as a gateway drug?

On a spiritual end, let’s truly attempt to develop that practice all the research and time-tested wisdom has always shown is the way to inner peace. Meditation! Start small and simple if you are intimidated. The point is, start!.
