What Happened To Me When I Only Ate Fruit For 5 Days Straight

    Have you ever tried a fast of any kind? Fasting can be a great way to explore your consciousness as it often helps to bring up hidden emotions and addictions we have to things like food.

Last week I decided it was time to cleanse my body. My good friend and roommate, Jeffrey, had already started on a 2 – week fruit fast and it inspired me to join in and give my body and digestive system the restoration, hydration, and nutrients I felt were lacking. So I decided that I would eat nothing but fruit for 5 days!

Now, if you are someone who is thinking, “Fruit! You must be crazy, do you know how much sugar is in fruit?” This is a very common misconception, not that fruit has sugar, but the fact that the sugar from fruit can be dangerous. Just think about this logically for a second, fruit in reality is nature’s perfect food for us — no one has to die, the fruit ripens and literally falls off the tree begging to be devoured. Fruit is brightly coloured and sweet, which is something us humans are naturally drawn towards. In many cases no tools are even needed, just pick up the fruit, perhaps you may need to peel it, and eat it. Simple as that.

Misconceptions Regarding Fruit

Fruit provides us with so many vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants that are vital for optimal health. A diet rich in fruit will help to hydrate your body down to the cellular level — more than water ever could. The benefits of fruit are plentiful and unfortunately these benefits are largely overlooked, ignored or even feared thanks to a ton of conflicting misinformation in modern and even alternative medicine. To deny the body of fruit is to deny one of the best things we can consume, inexpensively and abundantly. When was the last time you saw a commercial or advertisement for apples? Keep in mind there is more money in sick care than in true health care.

Yes, fruit does have sugar, but at the same time so do vegetables and grains and they don’t seem to be getting such a bad rap. The only instance where fruit can become an issue is if it is eaten with other foods, particularly animal protein or items that are high in fat. Because fruit moves through the digestive system quickly, if there is already other high fat foods in there, the fruit sugars will ferment and this is when it can become a problem, cause bloating and digestive distress. The fruit shouldn’t be getting the blame here; it’s whatever you may have ate before or with the fruit. It is absolutely crucial that fruit is consumed on an empty stomach. With that being said, many of us have a build up of fat, protein and more in our stomachs and intestines, and if you have eaten a diet rich in these foods for many years then there is a good chance that you still may have a negative reaction to the fruit initially, until it is able to help loosen up and push through the built up waste and eventually begin to heal your body.

Now, Back To My Story

Last year, I dived head first into a 21 Day Master Fast, which involved consuming nothing except for grape juice with lemon, herbal tinctures, and psyllium husk mixed with bentonite clay and activated charcoal. This fast also included daily enemas and dry brushing. So, when approaching this 5 day fruit fast, I naturally felt like, “I got this.” To my surprise, this experience was more challenging than I had expected, but in the best possible way. I enjoy challenging myself, whenever I can, doing things that I may have doubted I could do, because every time I accomplish something I previously thought not possible I think, wow, I did that! What else am I capable of?

Anyways, my fruit fast started with only mangoes for day 1, yep — only mangoes. This day flew by like a nice breeze on a hot summer day but I can’t say the same for the next day, which consisted of only watermelon. This day was much more challenging, watermelon is very hydrating, alkalizing and has a ton of vitamins and nutrients, but it moves through your body very quickly and didn’t provide me with much energy. Because of the detoxifying effect of the melon, the detox symptoms were in full swing. I felt foggy headed, very low energy, and a lot of sadness was coming to the surface. You see, in my opinion one of the best parts of any kind of fast is that when you aren’t consumed with all the stimulating foods and drinks that you normally would be, your emotions and feelings start coming up to the surface and you have no option except to sit with them and face them. Normally, we turn to food for comfort, typically without even realizing what we are doing because that’s what we’ve known and been taught since birth. Fasting is not just for the physical, but provides you with a level of clarity and insight that is unparalleled.

On day three I went right into mixed fruits, so that I could have all of the smoothies. This day was relatively easy, although, during this time I definitely spent more time at home, with my two roommates who were also on the fast. I also spent a lot of time on my own, resting and reflecting — this is something I don’t do very often at all. So that’s another thing, a cleanse, fast or detox like this is great for providing you with the space you need for yourself.

The next couple of days I regained my energy and was feeling fine, until the day of the 24-hour dry fast. This means 24 hours with nothing — not even water. This was a challenge from the moment I woke up and throughout the day. When you have nothing to turn to for comfort, where do you go? Inside.

I feel so strongly that this is where true healing lies — within. The fasting takes away even more of the distractions that we are constantly bombarding ourselves with all the time, it’s such an effective way to really face yourself and let go of your shit.

The last day marked the most difficult. A picnic with friends in the park and I was feeling so completely vulnerable and seen. Normally, I am fairly outgoing and confident, this day I felt, reserved, shy, and insecure — all of which were feelings I had to dive into later. By the end of this day and after a really good release in the form of a cry, I had a huge bout of clarity and insight coming through and I felt a huge amount of gratitude towards myself, for following through with this and giving my body the time to cleanse and restore itself.

The days that followed meant slowly integrating back raw vegetables into my diet, while sticking to only fruit in the mornings and then moving onto some very simple, light cooked meals during the following days.

I also highly suggest doing your due diligence and doing adequate research before diving into something like this. My skin broke out and my eyes were a little yellow and I looked like a zombie, these are only minor detox symptoms, but now I’m feeling great and back to my old self.

Final Thoughts

Sometimes we have a difficult time accepting that the answer to all of our health concerns could really be that simple, as simple as fruits and vegetables. Could it be that a lot of the illness we are facing today is simply due to a lack of fresh fruits and vegetables in our modern diets? Perhaps. Scientists Find A Strong Link Between Infamous Chemical That’s Still “Present In Everyone” & Autism

Perhaps the most important thing to mention when it comes to autism is that there is no biological marker for it. It can’t be identified, and those who receive an autism, or ASD diagnosis are simply diagnosed with it based on behaviour and social tendencies. It’s a large spectrum, with some being completely and clearly neurologically impaired, and others on the other end whom which you wouldn’t be able to tell have an ASD diagnosis and everything else in between. This is always important to acknowledge that, when it comes to autism, one person on one end of the spectrum could be damaged in a specific biological way, due to environmental factors discussed in this article, and another may not be damaged at all, in any way. In fact, some of them might even be more ‘enhanced,’ for lack of a better term.  Having received multiple labels myself as a child, I have come to learn that these labels are simply, for the most part, made up terms for big pharma to make trillions of dollars of off, it’s a big problem and one that has yet to be addressed adequately. Your child is not different, they are most likely damaged, something that may be hard for many to swallow, but we can’t keep ignoring all of the evidence that’s continually emerging by labelling those with autism as unique, which is ignoring the real cause of what’s really going on here, pure brain damage….

According to a senior researcher from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dr. Stephanie Seneff, at the rate, we’re going, “by 2025, one in two children will be autistic.” (source) She’s been outspoken about the consistent and strong correlation between the rising use of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (with its active ingredient glyphosate) on crops and the rising rates of autism. Her research also reveals that the side effects of autism mimic glyphosate toxicity and deficiencies.

A few years ago, I wrote about a study coming out of the University of California, Davis, which determined that pregnant women who live in close proximity to land and farms where chemical pesticides are/were applied experienced a seventy-five percent risk of having a child with autism spectrum disorder, or some other developmental disorder. Now, a new study has been published that implicates DDT as a possible trigger for autism. Having been an avid autism researcher for more than a decade now, it’s clear to me that there are several environmental triggers that can and do lead to an autism diagnosis, and multiple pesticides, including ones we used in the past, like DDT, are clear culprits. Others include prescription drugs during fetal development, vaccines, wifi radiation and more.

DDT was a commonly used pesticide designed to combat malaria-transmitting mosquitoes, it was banned in 1972 because it was linked to multiple health ailments, and clearly very dangerous, very similar to the ones that are falling under intense scrutiny today. It was banned years decades after its use, and is still found in some soils today, as well as many waterways. It takes more than a dozen years to break down.

The results of the study were published in the  American Journal of Psychiatry, and the research was was drawn from mothers who were confirmed to have DDT in their body, just as many today do when it comes to other commonly sprayed chemicals, like glyphosate, which is highly detectable in most peoples urine across North America as well as Europe.

According to the lead author, Alan Brown,

DDT is still persisting in the environment and is detectable in almost everyone I would not say women should be conerned but itis important to be informed that at least this one chemical exposure is related to increased risk.”

It’s crazy because this chemical was sprayed on crops worldwide for decades, and seemed to have been replaced with chemicals that are just as harmful.

“What’s appalling is that we have known about these dangers for decades yet have done little about it. Nearly 20 years ago, scientists at the National Research Council called for swift action to protect young and growing bodies from pesticides. Yet today, U.S. children continue to be exposed to pesticides that are known to be harmful in places they live, learn and play.”

It’s becoming quite clear that what we call ‘autism’ is linked with environmental factors, and goes far beyond genetics, but our health authorities don’t want to admit that. Because if environmental factors are causing autism, and it’s not genetics, then we have a big problem on our hands, especially for multiple corporations basically control the government, and what science is deemed credible…

This is why we haven’t seen a ban on these pesticides despite the fact that it makes absolutely no sense to use them.

A study published a few years ago in the journal PLOS Computational Biology from researchers at the University of Chicago revealed that autism and intellectual disability (ID) (autism has nothing to do with intellectual disability) rates are linked with exposure to harmful environmental factors during congenital development, critical stages of fetal development.

According to that study,

Autism appears to be strongly correlated with the rate of congentical malformations of the genitals in males acrossthe country. This gives an indicator of the environmental load and the effect is surprisingly strong…TRhe strongest predictors for autism were associated with the environment.

There Are Multiple Factors

We’ve gone from a pretty healthy population to one with a high rate of cancer, birth defects, and illnesses seldom seen before. . . . The tobacco companies denied the link between smoking and cancer, and took decades to recognize the truth. There are too many cancer-causing, autism causing, and brain damaging products to list that are all contributing to debilitating health effects that are on the rise exponentially. And yes, vaccines are one of many environmental factors that have contributed to this. To say vaccines aren’t implicated in autism is completely unscientific, yet the mainstream makes you feel stupid for even questioning them. Take aluminum for example, we now know that aluminum from vaccines does not exit the body, but ends up travelling to distant organs and eventually ends up in the brain. The brains of deceased autistic people were also recently opened and some of the highest brain aluminum content in history was found.  This is just one of many examples of how vaccines are connected to autism and other damage, which is why the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act has paid more than $4 billion. But that’s another topic in itself. But it’s important to mention.

It’s quite clear that they’re not completley safe.

10 Things That Happen To Your Body When You Walk Everyday

    There are multiple health benefits to be gained by taking a simple walk every day. These benefits are measurable, and if you don't already have an active lifestyle it can be a great way to assist you with your health.

    Reflect on how the human race has become extremely sedentary, and how disease rates continue to climb as a result of the modern human lifestyle.

The human experience has become extremely sedentary, the average human lifestyle in the western world has been linked to multiple diseases and is one of the main causes of why disease rates continue to climb, among many other factors that surround all aspects of human life, like big food, for example. With technology in place and jobs that require tremendous amounts of sitting, there is no doubt that it’s having a detrimental effect on our lives.

That being said, the world is clearly becoming way more health conscious. It’s like we needed this experience of unhealthy food, the corporate take-over of everything, and our motionless lifestyle to knock us out of it. We are seeing a health revolution take place, where more and more people are becoming health conscious, and are always being encouraged to be more active.

Ultimately, we can’t really blame the human experience for our lack of movement, it’s something that all of us have the time to incorporate into our lives in one way or another, and if you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy being too active, a simple walk every day can have tremendous amounts of benefits. If You Want To Increase The Benefits Even More, Walk Barefoot

It’s called grounding, or ‘earthing’ and it involves placing your feet directly on the ground, without shoes or socks as a barrier. Why? Because there is an intense negative charge carried by the Earth, it’s electron-rich, which serves as a good supply of antioxidants and free radical destroying electrons.

A study published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health titled “Earthing: Health Implications of Reconnecting the Human Body to the Earth’s Surface Electrons” postulates that earthing could represent a potential treatment for a variety of chronic degenerative diseases.

That’s right, many positive health benefits occur as a result of walking barefoot, and these are measurable.

Nature Valley Ad Shows The Down Side Of Children Addicted To Technology

    Technology has impacted most of our lives in a really big way. We use it daily for everything we do pretty much. Kids today, unlike previous generations, use technology more than ever and spend much less time in nature.

  • Reflect On:

    How much is too much technology for young and developing minds? Is it time to reevaluate our children's relationship with technology and get them back into nature?

Technology has become a staple in most of our lives, really, could you imagine life without it? In the video posted below, Nature Valley asks 3 generations what it was that they did for fun as a kid, the answers from the youngest generation may or may not surprise you, but is it time to cut back on the technology and bring kids back to nature?

Technology is not bad per se, that isn’t the discussion here. This is about how we use it.

Before technology, children would look to nature for entertainment. They would play outside on the lawn, go sledding, build forts, and use their imagination to create their own entertainment. Nowadays it’s all too easy for kids to get sucked into technology, there are video games, tablets, computers, cell phones and television, all of which provide a type of escape from the real world. Although, there are many ways that technology is and has been used for good in the world, is the disconnect that it is causing children and adults to part from nature causing more harm?

With the rise of mental disorders and illnesses, is it possible that the answer to these issues is simply to get kids back into nature, more time with self, using their brains to build things, be creative and connect to the energy from the Earth? We already know how effective a simple walk or hike in nature is and how they both can literally change our brains. Nature appears to be much more important than we generally give it credit for.

In my own experience, disconnecting from technology and going camping on my own proved to be a very cathartic and healing experience for me. I’ve come to realize that although being immersed in nature regularly does have a lot of benefits, but even just making time for it at all can cause a positive impact. For many of us who live in cities, with the constant bombardment of noise and of course EMF frequencies etc., just disconnecting for a short period can make a huge difference.

It’s easy to get emotional watching something like this as it shows just how far removed the newer generations are from what has been most natural to children for centuries, simply playing in nature. The children are essentially self-proclaimed tech addicts and get their entertainment by playing video games, watching videos or tv shows, texting etc. Is it time to go back to the basics and start evaluating how detrimental too much technology can be on young and developing brains? Is it up to the parents to ensure they are setting proper boundaries with the amount of time their children are allowed to use technology? Or is this the future and something we should simply let happen as a natural part of evolution?
