Research Reveals Plants Can Think, Choose & Remember
In Brief
- The Facts:
This article was written by Sayer Ji, founder of Greenmedinfo.com where it was originally published. Posted here with permission.
- Reflect On:
Does all form of life poses some type of 'consciousness' regardless of its biological structure? If so, what does this mean?
Modern science is only beginning to catch up to the wisdom of the ancients: plants possess sentience and a rudimentary form of intelligence.
Plants are far more intelligent and capable than we given them credit. In fact, provocative research from 2010 published in Plant Signaling & Behavior proposes that since they cannot escape environmental stresses in the manner of animals, they have developed a “sophisticated, highly responsive and dynamic physiology,” which includes information processes such as “biological quantum computing” and “cellular light memory” which could be described as forms of plant intelligence. Titled, “Secret life of plants: from memory to intelligence,” the study highlights one particular “super power” of plants indicative of their success as intelligent beings:
“There are living trees that germinated long before Jesus Christ was born. What sort of life wisdom evolved in plants to make it possible to survive and propagate for so long a time in the same place they germinated?”
According to the researchers, “plants actually work as a biological quantum computing device that is capable to process quantum information encrypted in light intensity and in its energy.” This information processing includes a mechanism for processing memorized information. For example:
“plants can store and use information from the spectral composition of light for several days or more to anticipate changes that might appear in the near future in the environment, for example, for anticipation of pathogen attack.”
According to the study, “plants can actually think and remember.”
Moreover, plant not only possess a mechanism for information gathering and processing, but appear to exercise agency or “choice” vis-à-vis different scenarios:
“different group of chloroplasts and cells in the same leaf under identical constant and stable light, temperature and relative humidity condition have different opinion “what to do” in such conditions and tests different scenarios of possible future development.”
The study also offers an explanation for why plants absorb more light energy than is needed for photosynthesis alone:
“Another possible answer to the above question is a light training of young naïve leaves. Let’s imagine when young leaf or flower is emerging out of a plant, it would be nice for that leaf or flower to know about the conditions in which it is going to emerge. Older, more experienced leaves that actually are acclimated to outside conditions can train naïve emerging young leaves with the PEPS [photoelectrophysiological signaling ]and cellular light memory mechanisms. This explains why plants possess a natural capacity to absorb more light energy than that required for photosynthetic CO2 assimilation. They need this absorbed energy in excess for optimization and training of light acclimatory and immune defenses.”
The authors leave us with the provocative conclusion:
“Our results suggest that plants are intelligent organisms capable of performing a sort of thinking process (understood as at the same time and non-stress conditions capable of performing several different scenarios of possible future definitive responses), and capable of memorizing this training.17 Indeed leaves in the dark are able to not only “see” the light,8,34 but also are able to differently remember its spectral composition and use this memorized information to increase their Darwinian fitness.”
Why is this discovery important?
There are many reasons why recognizing the sentience and intelligence of plants may have positive implications for the future of humanity. For one, it helps us all to transcend the dominant worldview that non-human life forms are best defined in strictly mechanistic terms, and that attributing a “life essence” or consciousness to them is a form of magical thinking. French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Pointy called this world view the “Great Object,” namely, that everything in the universe is compromised of material objects externally related to one another, and with consciousness merely an ephemeral subjectivity found only in humans.

To the contrary, if we open ourselves to the possibility that we are all participants in an interconnected web of life, as many indigenous peoples believed and actually experienced things to be, destroying the natural world simply to serve the essentially suicidal infinite economic growth model will be identified for the insanity that it is. If we recognize, as biologist James Lovelock proposed, the Earth as a whole should be looked upon more like a self-regulating organism (Gaia hypothesis), or as mycologist Paul Stamet envisions, that there is a fungi-based internet within the ground connecting all living things on the planet in an information-sharing network, we will be less likely to both perceive and to treat the natural world as “other” to be dominated. We’ve also been reporting on the role of exosomes as cross-kingdom messengers, which provides a plausible mechanism for how all of the Earth’s inhabitants — plant, fungal, bacteria, animal, etc. — are linked together in an open access, information sharing network.
Recognizing that plants, for instance, have consciousness, or that their simple presence in our environment has healing effects, reintroduces an element of wonder and mystery back into the experience of the natural world. A perfect example of this can be found in the singing plants of the sacred forest of Damanhur. Damanhurian researchers in the mid-70’s reported using custom equipment to capture electromagnetic changes on the surface of leaves and roots and transforming them into audible signals. The researchers also observed that the plants learned to control their electrical responses, indicating they had some rudimentary awareness of the music they were creating. To learn more visit the Damanhur project website, and watch the video below.

Dear Fans & Subscribers – We Are Doing Our Best & Trying Not To ‘Shut Down’ Collective Evolution
In Brief
- The Facts:
Collective Evolution is struggling financially. We are doing the best we can with the very limited resources we have. We've received a lot of complaints, and we just wanted to let readers know that we are working through our current struggle.
- Reflect On:
The impact alternative media had was so grand that it triggered a response and massive action from some powerful people. How are using the information you've come across within the past 10 years to change your life?
Trying to sustain an alternative media outlet isn’t easy. When I met Joe Martino, founder of Collective Evolution in 2010, it was really exciting. I really wanted to be a part of Collective Evolution, and my wish was granted. Since then it’s been a blast. At first, there was no concept of money. We were working other jobs and had other sources of income in the beginning, but working at CE became a full time, all day endeavour. Eventually, Joe made the necessary decision to monetize the site, although we didn’t want to do that, it was a decision that needed to made in order for us to continue doing the work that we were doing, and are still doing today.
We grew really fast, we covered a lot of topics that were once deemed a ‘conspiracy theory’ and we did so with extreme credibility. Our goal was to inspire people, to wake people up, let people know about the real power of human consciousness, let people know that there are solutions to the world’s problems, and that the solution, ultimately, is us. It’s hard to explain what CE is and what exactly we do, given the fact that we cover a wider range of topics, from personal development, to quantum physics, to health all the way to UFOs and much more. At the end of the day our goal is to help expand consciousness, improve people’s lives and contribute to creating a better world.
Information alone is necessary and has played a huge role in helping to change the perception people have about the planet, in various areas, and to help them realize that the human race is full of infinite potential, and that we really do have the solutions and the ability to create a human experience that is in harmony with the planet and all life upon it. The solutions aren’t the problem, those exist, it’s greed, ego, fear, perception manipulation and a lack of people following their hearts, rather than following the ‘system.’ I could go on and on, but I won’t. The point is, we must ask ourselves, if the solutions are out there, then what’s the real problem?
The real point I am trying to make is that we grew so much that we, and others, ended up on the radar of some very powerful people. These are the same people who are now demonetizing organizations like ours, they targeted our Facebook page, now our posts don’t reach all of our followers. Our traffic to the site dropped 90 percent once Facebook announced their attack on ‘fake news.’ Our Youtube account was demonetized and we could no longer afford to keep all of our team on board. It’s unfair to say the least, but it is what it is, and we are trying to adjust accordingly.
We are now working with a very small team, trying to figure out our next move as we are struggling to stay afloat. CE will never go anywhere, rest assured, the platform will always be here and it will always be a place to, at the very least, share important information. But our journey to keep growing, was halted, and the ‘fact’ checkers, who are funded by big interests, attacked the business where they knew it would hurt us the most.
So, I just wanted to write this little note to let our followers know that we are doing all we can. It’s not easy at all, and it’s a job that requires constant work on a daily basis. But we are fuelled by passion, we always have been.
This note was inspired by complaints that we do not produce enough content, and that sometimes we ‘re-post’ old content. Unfortunately, it’s something we have to do. We are very short staffed, a team of a few, and there is a lot to do. All of us are doing the jobs of multiple people, so please, bare with us.
In the meantime, if you’d like to support our work, you can subscribe to CETV, or simply make a donation at donate@collective-evolution.com. CETV a platform we created to combat the censorship we are currently experiencing, and it’s helping us to barely stay afloat.
The vision for Collective Evolution is much larger than what it started off as. We, like any other organization, want to evolve and have a greater impact on the planet and human consciousness. It’s unfortunate that the ‘powers that be’ have the ability to simply flip a switch and cause an organization like ours to collapse, but we’re still here..

Do UFOs Represent Some Sort of Threat? Or Is This Just Government Propaganda?
In Brief
- The Facts:
UFO disclosure within the mainstream continues to ramp up every-single year, as the topic continues to be legitimized in ways that we've never seen before.
- Reflect On:
Is mainstream UFO disclosure a type of 'controlled narrative,' one that could perhaps be used for ulterior motives?
The topic of UFOs and extraterrestrials, as well as the possible extra-dimensional origins of these supposed ‘intelligences’ and craft continues to gain rapid popularity and credible disclosure within the mainstream, and that’s because of the fact that the UFO phenomenon is indeed real. These objects are spotted, photographed, recorded on video, commonly tracked on radar and observed by military pilots who are scrambled to take a closer look. This is evidence that can’t be denied, which is why Christopher Mellon, who served 30 years in the federal government and was Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary for Intelligence from 1997 to 2002, has published detailed articles for outlets like The Hill as well as The Washington Post emphasizing the reality and seriousness of this subject. He is one of several to do so.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to see this type of UFO mainstream disclosure taking place, although it’s unfortunate that the topic, or any topic for that matter, has to be taken seriously by mainstream media for many to even take the subject seriously. This type of disclosure is well overdue given the fact that there has been a long campaign of “official secrecy and ridicule,” as stated by Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter, the very first director of the CIA. (source)
But why now? The topic of UFOs has been gaining a tremendous amount of popularity and credibility, not only from the type of sources listed above, but also from a slew of credible ‘whistleblowers’ from intelligence agents, ex-government officials, high-ranking military personnel, astronauts, an many more who have been and are disclosing this reality. There was and has been more than ample evidence to show that UFOs are real, that there are “objects in our atmosphere which are technically miles in advance of anything we can deploy.” (Lord Admiral Hill Norton, Former Chairman of the NATO Military Committee)
So again, why now?
It seems that mainstream media had no choice but to jump on the topic and attempt to control it. Like I said, mainstream coverage on the topic of UFOs is great, but one cannot help but point out the fact that mainstream media outlets, or as I like to refer to them, establishment mouthpieces, have been feeding us disinformation and misinformation since their inception. Does this mean they plan to do the same thing with UFOs?
Operation mockingbird is a great example, but it seems like it’s still going on today. Dr. Udo Ulfkotte, who was a top German journalist and editor and has been for more than two decades, went on the record stating that he was forced to publish the works of intelligence agents under his own name, also mentioning that noncompliance would result in him losing his job. William Arkin, a longtime well known military and war reporter who is best known for his groundbreaking, three-part Washington Post series on the Black Budget in 2010 has gone public outing NBC/MSNBC as completely fake government run agencies. You can read more about that here. There are even declassified documents that clearly show the relationship that intelligence agencies like the CIA have with mainstream media, as well as academia.
This is important to note.
Why is this important to recognize? It’s simple, because again, all we’ve seen is deception, at least for the most part, which is why it raises an eyebrow how people with backgrounds like Mellon, all of a sudden, are able to publish serious pieces in these media outlets about the topic of UFOs. What about all of the other activists, researchers and whistleblowers over the years? Why are they not receiving any attention at all? Was the UFO topic becoming so popular that ‘the powers that be’ are now simply trying to control the narrative of the subject? And if so, what are they trying to do with it? This is just speculation on my part, and I am sure on the part of many other researchers out there.
The Threat Narrative
One thing that seems to rub me the wrong way about mainstream UFO disclosure is what seems to be a constant ‘threat narrative.’ This is a phenomenon that dates back hundreds, if not thousands of years. Cases have ben documented for a very, very long time. If there was some sort of ‘extraterrestrial threat’ or a threat to national security by these objects, if they are extraterrestrial in origin, wouldn’t some type of ‘event’ have already taken place by now? Why is it that a ‘threat’ narrative always seems to accompany any type of UFO disclosure by the mainstream? Perhaps the elite want to weaponize space? Perhaps they want to present it as a threat, the same way they present terrorism as a threat? To justify immoral actions? These are all important points to consider given the fact that we’ve already been lied to and misled on so many other major topics. Why should the topic of UFOs be any different?
That being said, perhaps there is no threat type of agenda here, more on that in a bit.
This phenomenon is deep, and to anybody who is researching it knows that it’s not fair to a number of researchers and experts who have been left out of this process of mainstream disclosure. Mainstream disclosure also doesn’t address all of the information and evidence that’s piled up over the years. It’s simply, government, or perhaps, ‘deep state’ disclosure. The narrative is controlled, and despite the vastness of this subject, we are simply getting a narrowed down view of the phenomenon, whether the intentions of mainstream UFO disclosure are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ remains to be seen.
Now, I am not saying that malevolent forces from other world’s don’t exist, and I’m not saying benevolent forces don’t either. Based on all of my research over the past decade, there are no doubt some disturbing aspects that are associated with this phenomenon. The phenomenon itself, whether benevolent or malevolent, is in itself a disturbing paradigm buster for many people. There are also opposite, and uplifting factors that go hand in hand with the phenomenon as well. We as a collective are not yet ready for mass disclosure and all of its implications. If we were, it would have happened already. Perhaps it’s happening slowly at a pace that best suits human consciousness? Perhaps the ‘deep state’ or people in power aren’t control of disclosure? Perhaps we are? Perhaps ‘they’ are, perhaps it happens on ‘their’ terms, when we are ready, and not ours?
Some malevolent aspects of this phenomenon may even be connected to our own government, like abductions, for example. There are reasons to believe that a large majority of forced abduction experiences are actually government run psychological warfare experiments. In his book, “Forbidden Science 4,” Dr. Jacques Valle explains how he came in possession documents showing that forced “UFO abductions” were conducted by the CIA as psychological warfare experiments. You can read more about that here.
A former member of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Richard Doty, has also claimed the same thing. And that he was one of many who were tasked with spreading disinformation into the field. You can read more about that here. Government agencies have long infiltrated the field for the sole purpose of spreading disinformation, in order to drive researchers and investigators far away from the truth. This is something that is still happening, at large, today, in my opinion.
Is mainstream UFO disclosure part of this disinformation campaign? So far it doesn’t look like it, as they’ve done a good job bringing legitimacy to the reality of the phenomenon. But we have yet to see how far they go.
With regards to mainstream UFO disclosure, Mellon, and the organization he is a part of (Tom Delonge’s TTSA), are doing a great job of bringing awareness to a real phenomenon, however, again, the term ‘threat’ seems to be used constantly, especially by a former Pentagon official that’s part of the team, Louis Elizondo. Elizondo was part of the now disclosed Ariel Threat’s program at the Pentagon, one that tracked and kept a close watch on UFOs that entered into our atmosphere.
The New York Times broke the story about a secret Pentagon program, but any UFO researcher knows these programs are more in-depth, expensive, and expansive than anything that’s described in that article.
Elizondo has emphasized on multiple occasions that he believes these objects are indeed extraterrestrial in origin. In the clip linked in this sentence, he also mentioned a ‘potential threat’ multiple times.
The Threat Narrative Is Understandable, But…
This is not to say that perceiving these objects as a potential threat is not justified, but for years these objects have performed evasive maneuvers. The fact is, from a military point of view, it’s understandable why these are perceived as a threat. It’s not illogical, after all, these objects are technologically more advanced than any air craft known to man. If something is violating air space and hovering over nuclear missile facilities, for example, which they often do, it would be irresponsible for our military not to at least consider a possible threat, at least at our current level of human consciousness.
The evasive characteristics and efforts to avoid our own aircraft has been emphasized by multiple people, like Canadian defense minister Paul Hellyer, for example, who said that these objects commonly take “corrective measures to avoid our aircraft,” and that our military tends to “shoot first and ask questions after.” (source) Don’t forget four start General Nathan Twinning, who stated in a declassified intelligence document decades ago that,
“The phenomenon is something real and not visionary or fictitious. The reported operating characteristics such as extreme rates of climb, maneuverability (particularly in roll), and motion which must be considered evasive when sighted or contacted by friendly air-craft and radar, lend belief to the possibility that some of the objects are controlled either manually, automatically, or remotely.” (source)
There are a trove of declassified documented cases that also show the same thing.
We must ask ourselves, are these objects genuine threats? Have they shown themselves to be threats? Has their behaviour been indicative of any type of ‘threat’ activity? There are some cases you could maybe argue that yes, their behaviour has been aggressive, but for the most part based on my research, there isn’t really much to base a ‘threat’ narrative off of when it comes to the examination of how these objects have been observed and recorded. There are literally, practically zero cases that represent that type of behaviour.
The way mainstream UFO disclosure stands right now, it’s not an extreme, over the top ‘threat’ type of narrative as of yet, but it’s there, no doubt, and it seems to be the only perspective that’s being pushed without considering other possibilities.
Is this being done for ulterior motives, or is it innocent? I don’t know.
Again, unidentified flying objects entering into our airspace, hovering over nuclear bases, tampering with nuclear weapons, etc, from our level of perception, it’s easy to see how this type of activity is perceived as a threat, but is there a fear mongering agenda here or is this perception simply necessary, at least from our current level of consciousness? Is there an agenda here? Or is this just a natural expected narrative ?I’ll let you decide. There have been suggestions from people with interesting backgrounds that a threat narrative is being used for a supposed false flag alien invasion, but I’m not going to go into that here. You can read more about it here.
The classified black budget world would have to be really advanced to pull that off, perhaps they are.
It’s also important to mention that there is no easy way to disclose the reality of this phenomenon. Mainstream UFO disclosure can’t simply burst out and hit the unawakened population with certain truths about this topic. It’s disturbing in many ways as it is uplifting and encouraging. There are many dimensions and aspects to this phenomenon, and it opens up countless amounts of questions that veer off into many other related fields. It’s a paradigm buster.
At the end of the day, regardless of how they are perceived by our military and our elite authority agencies, the fact remains that a large majority of cases clearly show no hostility, and are not indicative at all of any type of hostility. Sure, they may be intrusive, curious, and strange, but agin, the phenomenon seems to be older than we are, and we still have no clear signs of hostility as of yet. If anything, I’d imagine that our race is the one that ‘they’ have to be cautious of.
So, again, we have to ask ourselves, is a threat narrative being pushed? Are good people who believe we should be pre-cautious and perceive them as a threat being used to push some sort of ulterior agenda? Or is it simply ‘protocol’ to assume the ‘threat’ narrative?
The Takeaway
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this topic truly leaves no aspect of humanity untouched. It has huge implications, spiritually, technologically, historically and scientifically. The process of disclosure is long, and it wont come from any type of authority figure, it will happen naturally, in my opinion, as time goes on and as the collective mind opens up to the fact that we are not alone in the universe, and that we have been and are being visited for a very long time.

Veteran Goes From Janitor to Physicist After Teaching Himself Trigonometry Using Youtube
In Brief
- The Facts:
Joshua Carroll, a veteran, shows us that if there is a will, there is a way. There are more than enough resources to learn what you have the desire to learn, education can be free, all you need is passion.
- Reflect On:
Is modern day education a money grab? Is it really required to learn, or simply required to get a piece of paper to obtain a specific job? Does one have to go to an educational institution in order to obtain an education?
When I think about education, I usually can’t help but to think how many of our educational institutions have been compromised in many different ways, like the connection between the CIA and major academic institutions, for example. I also tend to think about how, when it comes to knowledge on various subjects, we often appeal to authority, meaning that only those who are ‘educated’ on a particular topic know the most about it. I believe this has caused many individuals, when the desire for information on a certain topic pops up, to simply look for what others with supposed ‘credibility’ believe on the topic. There are many subjects out there, for example, where authority figures claim that “the science is settled,” meanwhile, if you do your own digging, you will find out that there are many publications by various academics that make it quite clear that the science is not settled.”
This is known today as the politicization of science.
Without getting too specific, the point is that there is a lot of information out there, and one doesn’t have to be within the realms of academia to obtain it. In fact, based on my experience, having gone through the education system and post-secondary education system, those with the passion and desire to learn are the ones who seem to become the most knowledgable, regardless of their education. It’s all about passion. Today, education seems to be used by most to simply obtain a piece of paper for the purposes of making money, instead of people engaging in their passions. Perhaps this is why so many people end up unhappy? Perhaps it’s why Albert Einstein once said that he never let his “schooling interfere with his intelligence.”
Are we going to school to learn? Or are we going because it’s simply the thing to do?
There are many people out there who recognize this, and one of them is a former US Army veteran by the name of Joshua Carroll. After returning from the horrors of war, he suffered from PTSD and found himself feeling a general lack of purpose. He started to work as a janitor at a school when he came across a book by physicist Stephen Hawking, this sparked his drive to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a physicist.
As The Good News Network reports:
With just a 10th grade education in geometry, Carroll managed to persuade the admissions staffers at Radford University to let him skip the prerequisites for the physics program provided he could teach himself trigonometry. Armed with nothing but the internet, Carroll prepared for his entrance exam by watching dozens of YouTube videos to learn advanced mathematics in just three weeks. Not only did he pass with flying colors, he graduated as one of the top students in his class—and he has been working as a physicist ever since.
Caroll’s story is proof that anytime you have the desire, will and the passion to learn something, you can do it. At the end of the day, there are resources at our disposal in the form of Youtube videos, libraries, journal articles that are available to the public, and much much more. A university degree or college education is not required for your to learn. You can probably get the equivalent, or even better, for free using the internet and a library. Sure, it’s required to possibly get a job an maybe a better quality of life (even that is doubtful), but it’s not at all required for a real education. Something to think about.
